“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Psalms 90: 15 Make us glad according to the days in which You have afflicted us, The years in which we have seen evil.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
Hallelujah
Leaving the pleasures of the world and being united with Christ
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the past days we meditated certain ideas regarding how fighting does not belong to us. When Moses, when he was correcting the Hebrew who was doing injustice, the Hebrew does not obey but he answers him back. Because of that Pharaoh comes to know about how Moses killed the Egyptian and searches for him to kill him. As Moses knows about this, we see that Moses fled from Pharaoh and comes to the land of Midian; and he sat down by a well.
That is why, in Proverbs 9: 8 Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.
That is, many people who are saved, will not leave their old deeds in their lives. They will be fighting like the sons of Belial and will be continually instigating fights.
They are the scornful and the ones who do not obey God.
Jude 1: 19 These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.
My dear people, we must never be like those with such kind of thoughts. We must always accept correction, humble ourselves and analyse ourselves and if we will correct ourselves, we will get great joy and peace. We will also be able to enter into the eternal life of rejoicing.
Let us submit ourselves now itself in God’s presence.
Proverbs 14: 6 A scoffer seeks wisdom and does not find it, But knowledge is easy to him who understands.
Proverbs 15: 31 – 33 The ear that hears the rebukes of life Will abide among the wise.
He who disdains instruction despises his own soul, But he who heeds rebuke gets understanding.
The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom, And before honour is humility.
When someone corrects us with God’s wisdom, if we will accept it with a humble attitude, we will also attain wisdom and we will be able to improve in wisdom. Then the fear of the Lord will be formed in us. And we will have honour in our lives. (Heavenly honour)
When Moses went and dwelt in the land of Midian; and he sat down by a well, the priest of Midian had seven daughters. And they came and drew water, and they filled the troughs to water their father’s flock.
Then the shepherds came and drove them away; but Moses stood up and helped them and watered their flock.
When they came to Reuel their father, he said, “How is it that you have come so soon today?” And they said, “An Egyptian delivered us from the hand of the shepherds, and he also drew enough water for us and watered the flock.”
So, he said to his daughters, “And, where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.”
Then Moses was content to live with the man, and he gave Zipporah his daughter to Moses. And she bore him a son.
He called his name Gershom, for he said, “I have been a stranger in a foreign land.” Joseph’s brothers only took Joseph from the pit and sold him to the hands of Midianites who are the Ishmaelites.
Moses is escaping from Pharaoh and coming to dwell in the same land of Midianites. And we see that he is sitting by the well. By the well means it is a place to take water. This is showing the church. The ones who came to take water were the daughters of the priest of Midian. God is giving him the Midianite, Zipporah as his wife. We come to know that they (Midianites) are not Israelites. This well was not the well of the Israelites, it was the well of Midianites. But we see that the Midianites, the shepherds did not give water and drove away the daughters of the priest of Midian. But Moses is helping them and is changing to a person of their household. Now the Moses who was in Egypt is sold to the Midianites.
Moses, as soon as a son is born unto him says “I have been a stranger in a foreign land.” And names him Gershom. This shows an experience of not being saved.
Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.
Exodus 2: 24 So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
God is giving Joseph into the hands of the Midianites. After he was put by his brothers into the pit, they lift him up from the pit and sold him to Ishmaelites and is being taken by the Ishmaelites to Egypt. But in order for God to fulfil the promise that he gave Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, he sends Joseph to Egypt first and then the fathers of the eleven tribes of Israel and Jacob (Israel) and he protects their life through Joseph. In their tribes, that is the tribe of Levi, God raises a Moses and gives him also like Joseph into the bondage of Pharaoh and after that he was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and deeds. After that, God created certain circumstances and brought him to the Midianites and while he was in Midian, God called him to redeem the people of Israel from Egypt.
Since God’s calling was with Moses in this manner, he was brought up in the palace of the Pharaoh and when he became of age, he left all those pleasures Hebrews 11: 24 – 27 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
My dear people, the reason why God is showing all these things as a pattern is that even if we have plenty of joys of the world in our soul, it is not eternal, it is useless, it is not firm and it is not fixed. God is showing us this as a pattern, through Moses and if our soul is in the world, in the bondage of sin we must leave all those pleasures and whatever problems we may have if we are in fellowship with Christ we will be able to receive eternal bliss. We will be able to receive deliverance from the hands of the enemy and in order to possess eternal life God hears the groaning of Israel and looks at them and he remembers them. If God remembers us, then we will have deliverance. Let us all possess this deliverance.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless us all.
