“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Isaiah 44: 26 Who confirms the word of His servant, And performs the counsel of His messengers; Who says to Jerusalem, ‘You shall be inhabited,’ To the cities of Judah, ‘You shall be built,’ And I will raise up her waste places;
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
Hallelujah
Doing deeds to fulfil God’s promise – as a pattern
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, God removes our captivity and saves us and fulfils the promise that God has given us in order for us to possess Canaan and God has shown us Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as a pattern and we meditated regarding when and how the Old Testament holy people reached the Holy place, which is Christ. We also meditated regarding how God gave a promise for Jacob’s son Joseph to possess Canaan.
Just like how God told Abraham, that know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years, God fulfilled the promise in the same manner, and sent the generation of Jacob to Egypt. In this manner, the names of Israel who came to Egypt, twelve of them and the descendants of Jacob were seventy persons.
And Joseph died, all his brothers, and all that generation.
But the children of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly, multiplied and grew exceedingly mighty; and the land was filled with them.
Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. And he said to his people, “Look, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we;
Come, let us deal shrewdly with them, lest they multiply, and it happen, in the event of war, that they also join our enemies and fight against us, and so go up out of the land.”
Therefore, they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh supply cities, Pithom and Raamses.
But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were in dread of the children of Israel.
So, the Egyptians made the children of Israel serve with rigor.
We must think one thing regarding these things. Abraham, in his life, when God was leading him, because he did what God did not tell him to do and because he did not listen to God’s instruction properly and did not do according to it, the generations have to go through such evil days. We must know clearly that God is watching carefully at each one of our deeds and we must always be with reverence and fear.
God’s purpose is that for the mistake that Abraham did, he is submitting the generations to tribulations. And God’s purpose is to judge the Egyptians.
As God said, the Israel church is multiplying and growing. The aim of Pharaoh was to somehow afflict Israel. Therefore, the Egyptians in Exodus 1: 14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage—in mortar, in brick, and in all manner of service in the field. All their service in which they made them serve was with rigor.
In this manner, God submitted them in the hands of the Egyptians, and we see that the Egyptians are afflicting them. The reason for this is the sin done by the forefathers. God is making the generations as slaves to the enemy.
My dear people, if we do not do God’s will our generations, the church which is our generation will become a slave to the enemy. We will not be aware of it and we will pass away. In the same way, the pain that Israel, the church underwent was not known by those who passed away. We should know this now and must be careful that our generations do not get God’s curse.
In order to fulfill the promise that God gave Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, he is fulfilling two more deeds.
Israel is multiplying and increasing, the judgement of the Egyptian and Israelites leaving and coming with great things – all these things are being fulfilled in the end.
We see that the Egyptians, in order to make the lives of the Israelites bitter burden them with heavy work. But now, no one realizes this. We must know what is the work that the Egyptians afflicted the Israelites with. Therefore, the people of God who are redeemed, those who are doing such work, should analyze themselves. God says do not be a slave for any man, we are a slave only for God. God has called us unto liberty.
My dear people, if we are only God’s slave, only if we are servants of God, then only we can become God’s slave. Otherwise we are a slave only to man.
Our God, in the Garden of Eden, since Adam and Eve were cheated by the serpent, we see that he puts three types of curses to all three of them.
But to Adam Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’:
“Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life.
Genesis 3: 18, 19 Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field.
In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.”
Those who are slaves to sin, in this manner are being cursed by God. This sin and curse were carried on the cross by our Lord Jesus Christ. Those who believe this can possess its redemption.
Our Lord Jesus Christ, entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.
If we want to possess this eternal redemption Hebrews 9: 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
My dear people, when we meditate on this, we see that God is showing us as a pattern that God is making the generation of Israel as slaves in Egypt, gave them tribulations and he made them multiply and increase there, made the Israelites a multitude and gave them a redemption from there and those who truly believe will enter Canaan.
From this, what we understand is that God is giving us his eternal redemption. My dear people we must all possess the eternal redemption.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless us all.
