“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Psalms 119: 18
Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
How should we, the bride, the church, be part of the ministry of the altar (in Christ)?
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church, should inherit the blessing by the resurrected Christ.
Next what we are meditating upon is that in 1 Chronicles 23: 14 – 24 Now the sons of Moses the man of God were reckoned to the tribe of Levi.
The sons of Moses were Gershon and Eliezer.
Of the sons of Gershon, Shebuel was the first.
Of the descendants of Eliezer, Rehabiah was the first. And Eliezer had no other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
Of the sons of Izhar, Shelomith was the first.
Of the sons of Hebron, Jeriah was the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
Of the sons of Uzziel, Michah was the first and Jesshiah the second.
The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli were Eleazar and Kish.
And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but only daughters; and their brethren, the sons of Kish, took them as wives.
The sons of Mushi were Mahli, Eder, and Jeremoth—three in all.
These were the sons of Levi by their fathers’ houses—the heads of the fathers’ houses as they were counted individually by the number of their names, who did the work for the service of the house of the Lord, from the age of twenty years and above.
According to what is mentioned in the above verses, the sons of the man of God Moses were reckoned to the tribe of Levi. The names of those who were first from generation to generation were written. Also, these were the sons of Levi by their fathers’ houses—the heads of the fathers’ houses as they were counted individually by the number of their names, who did the work for the service of the house of the Lord, from the age of twenty years and above. For David said, “The Lord God of Israel has given rest to His people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem forever”; and also to the Levites, “They shall no longer carry the tabernacle, or any of the articles for its service.” For by the last words of David the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and above; because their duty was to help the sons of Aaron in the service of the house of the Lord, in the courts and in the chambers, in the purifying of all holy things and the work of the service of the house of God, both with the showbread and the fine flour for the grain offering, with the unleavened cakes and what is baked in the pan, with what is mixed and with all kinds of measures and sizes; to stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord, and likewise at evening; and at every presentation of a burnt offering to the Lord on the Sabbaths and on the New Moons and on the set feasts, by number according to the ordinance governing them, regularly before the Lord; and that they should attend to the needs of the tabernacle of meeting, the needs of the holy place, and the needs of the sons of Aaron their brethren in the work of the house of the Lord.
My dear people, the fact regarding the above-mentioned verses is that the ministry of altar belongs to Christ and this is the Lord showing us as a pattern and listening to the voice of the Lord and obey immediately and should not keep anything for themselves in this world and submit themselves completely for an eternal inheritance and when God used Moses and Joshua and divided the lands to the eleven tribes without any worry arising in their hearts and when they said that the Lord is their inheritance they accepted it happily with their whole mind and after many days the other tribes had compassion upon them and accepted what they gave them they and their generations stayed, ate and drank and in this manner they lived their life and did the work of the Lord and we meditated this from the word of God few days back. What this means is that our Lord Jesus Christ is everything and he gave his life for us. Among such people only Christ can work as the priest of the altar. Also, the way that we should worship God is mentioned. We should always exalt and praise the Lord and we should proclaim the deeds that he has done. In this manner those who are doing the ministry of the Lord in all the things concerning the worship in everything we should be holy, and he is explaining this. Also, the word of God, the blood of the new covenant, which is through Christ, the word of God which are his precepts and the prophetical words of God in all these things we should follow them carefully and in worshipping the Lord in the morning and evening and in our soul always we must be truthful in exalting and praising. In this manner let us submit ourselves to the Lord.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
