“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

1 Corinthians 6: 20

For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen

We, the bride, the church, should protect ourselves from the word of God, the judgement and safeguard ourselves.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church, should fall in the hands of the Lord for the Lord to forgive the iniquity that we have done.

Next what we are meditating upon is that in 1 Chronicles 21: 14, 15 So the Lord sent a plague upon Israel, and seventy thousand men of Israel fell.

And God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it. As he was destroying, the Lord looked and relented of the disaster, and said to the angel who was destroying, “It is enough; now restrain your hand.” And the angel of the Lord stood by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

In the above-mentioned verses, the Lord sent a plague upon Israel due to the iniquity that David did. Due to the plague affecting Israel we see that seventy thousand men of Israel fell. Then David lifted his eyes and saw in 1 Chronicles 21: 16 Then David lifted his eyes and saw the angel of the Lord standing between earth and heaven, having in his hand a drawn sword stretched out over Jerusalem. So David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces.

By the above-mentioned words of the Lord David and elders fell on their faces before the Lord and said in 1 Chronicles 21: 17 And David said to God, “Was it not I who commanded the people to be numbered? I am the one who has sinned and done evil indeed; but these sheep, what have they done? Let Your hand, I pray, O Lord my God, be against me and my father’s house, but not against Your people that they should be plagued.”

When David pleaded to the Lord with the above-mentioned words in 1 Chronicles 21: 18 Therefore, the angel of the Lord commanded Gad to say to David that David should go and erect an altar to the Lord on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

The angel of the Lord commanded Gad to say to David the above-mentioned words. So David went up at the word of Gad, which he had spoken in the name of the Lord. Now Ornan turned and saw the angel; and his four sons who were with him hid themselves, but Ornan continued threshing wheat. So David came to Ornan and in 1 Chronicles 21: 21, 22 So David came to Ornan, and Ornan looked and saw David. And he went out from the threshing floor and bowed before David with his face to the ground.

Then David said to Ornan, “Grant me the place of this threshing floor, that I may build an altar on it to the Lord. You shall grant it to me at the full price, that the plague may be withdrawn from the people.”

Then Ornan said to David in 1 Chronicles 21: 23 But Ornan said to David, “Take it to yourself, and let my lord the king do what is good in his eyes. Look, I also give you the oxen for burnt offerings, the threshing implements for wood, and the wheat for the grain offering; I give it all.”

After Ornan said the above-mentioned words to David, then King David said to Ornan, “No, but I will surely buy it for the full price, for I will not take what is yours for the Lord, nor offer burnt offerings with that which costs me nothing.” So David gave Ornan six hundred shekels of gold by weight for the place. And David built there an altar to the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called on the Lord; and He answered him from heaven by fire on the altar of burnt offering. So the Lord commanded the angel, and he returned his sword to its sheath. At that time, when David saw that the Lord had answered him on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, he sacrificed there. For the tabernacle of the Lord and the altar of the burnt offering, which Moses had made in the wilderness, were at that time at the high place in Gibeon. But David could not go before it to inquire of God, for he was afraid of the sword of the angel of the Lord.

My dear people, the above-mentioned things the Lord in these days is showing us as a pattern for all of us to be careful. That is, our Lord Jesus Christ to make us his temple Christ is buying us with a price with his precious blood and he is showing this as a pattern with the threshing floor of Ornan. The above-mentioned sword means the word of God, the sheath means the body of Christ, for those who fear the Lord and obey him it is peace and life and those who do not obey it is punishment and death. Here when we read, not only did it make Israelites die and fall down he decides to destroy Jerusalem. What this signifies is that those who are leading the church the mistakes that they are doing not only makes the souls of the people to die but that he is powerful to destroy Jerusalem, the inner man and he is showing this as a pattern. But the sins that we are doing and iniquities till we come to the presence of the Lord in the right manner the word of God, his sword which he sent will stand upon us as judgement. These the Lord is using David and showing us as a pattern and he is making each one of us as an altar for Christ and in that altar all the parts of our body should be burned with the fire, the word of God and then our Lord Jesus Christ will work within us as a peace offering and if the Lord accepts our offering then he will deliver us from judgement, save us and guide us in the path of righteousness and delivers us from death. Therefore we must always fear the Lord and to tremble to his words let us submit ourselves to the Lord.

Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
