“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
1 Corinthians 2: 12
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church, should not give place for the spirit of the world in our soul.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church, should not be the reason for the shedding of innocent blood.
Next what we are meditating upon is that 2 Kings 24: 7 – 9 And the king of Egypt did not come out of his land anymore, for the king of Babylon had taken all that belonged to the king of Egypt from the Brook of Egypt to the River Euphrates.
Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. His mother’s name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father had done.
In the above-mentioned verses, after the death of Jehoiakim his son Jehoiachin reigned in his place. And the king of Egypt did not come out of his land anymore, for the king of Babylon had taken all that belonged to the king of Egypt from the Brook of Egypt to the River Euphrates. Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. His mother’s name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem. And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father had done. Therefore, in 2 Kings 24; 10 – 16 At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, as his servants were besieging it.
Then Jehoiachin king of Judah, his mother, his servants, his princes, and his officers went out to the king of Babylon; and the king of Babylon, in the eighth year of his reign, took him prisoner.
And he carried out from there all the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house, and he cut in pieces all the articles of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the Lord, as the Lord had said.
Also he carried into captivity all Jerusalem: all the captains and all the mighty men of valor, ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths. None remained except the poorest people of the land.
And he carried Jehoiachin captive to Babylon. The king’s mother, the king’s wives, his officers, and the mighty of the land he carried into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
All the valiant men, seven thousand, and craftsmen and smiths, one thousand, all who were strong and fit for war, these the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.
According to the above-mentioned verses, what the Lord is showing us as a pattern is that Babylon means the spirit of the world and he is showing this. This is because, we, who have been saved if we will again become under the bondage of the deeds of Egypt, which is sin then the king of Babylon, which is the spirit of the world will come into us. If the spirit of the world deceives us in this manner, we will have to lose the heavenly blessings that we had received. Also, that world if it comes into a person, it will enter the church that we go fully. In this manner, the Lord when he submits us into the hands of the enemy then we will do wicked things against the Lord. Also, those who are living in this manner the Lord will remove them from his presence and till then the anger of the Lord will be upon them. Therefore my dear people, we should give the spirit of the world our soul but we should be filled with the spirit of the Lord. In this manner, let us submit ourselves to be filled with the spirit of the Lord.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
