Israelites - Multiplication and Growth

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, God tells Abraham that in Isaac your seed shall be called. The seed that was called in Isaac is Jacob. Jacob is the churches that our forefathers worshipped in. They are the traditional churches. In order to change Jacob from that to a spiritual Israelite, God kept a plan which is the manifestation of Christ, who is his only begotten Son. We saw the mistakes that Jacob did in his life. We see that because of that God takes him to Egypt and creates oppurtunities for him to serve God and worship Him.

Moreover in order to fulfill the promise that he gave to Abram, Isaac and Jacob in Genesis 46: 3 So He said, “I am God, the God of your father; do not fear to go down to Egypt, for I will make of you a great nation there. In this manner, God made the people of God increase in Egypt. It is there that Jacob multiplies and increases. We are able to read in the verses of the Bible that the king of Egypt makes plans in order to stop them from increasing.

Also, there was a severe famine in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan. Now there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very severe, so that the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan languished because of the famine.

And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan, for the grain which they bought; and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house.

After the Egyptians spent the money, they came to Joseph and said, “Give us bread, for why should we die in your presence? For the money has failed.”

Then Joseph said, “Give your livestock, and I will give you bread for your livestock, if the money is gone.”

So they brought their livestock to Joseph, and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for the horses, the flocks, the cattle of the herds, and for the donkeys. Thus he fed them with bread in exchange for all their livestock that year and upheld them.

Genesis 47: 18, 19 When that year had ended, they came to him the next year and said to him, “We will not hide from my lord that our money is gone; my lord also has our herds of livestock. There is nothing left in the sight of my lord but our bodies and our lands.

Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants of Pharaoh; give us seed, that we may live and not die, that the land may not be desolate.”

People of God who are reading this, what we understand now is that God is showing the flocks and the cattle of the herds of the Egyptians as a pattern of the people and God is giving those people grains through Joseph and is purchasing them for a price. They brought all their flocks, the cattle of the herds, horses and their donkeys and sold everything to Joseph. We see that Joseph is giving food to all and is upholding them.

Flocks, cattle of the herds, donkeys, horses all these are written as the different kinds of people in Egypt which God is showing us as a pattern.

Then the Egyptians, when everything of theirs is finished they are saying that There is nothing left in the sight of my lord but our bodies and our lands.

Now what we come to know is that, everyone's body and the land which is our heart is a very important thing to God and God is showing this to the Egyptians. Those who are living conformed to the world, those who are living according to worldly pleasures are Egyptians. God is removing all these things from them and he is working in this manner to take the body and the land as a place for God to dwell.

Then God is using Joseph to buy the lands of Egypt and is handing them over to the hands of Pharaoh. In this manner, the land becomes Pharaoh's.

Only the land of the priests he did not buy. This is because the priests had rations allotted to them by Pharaoh, and they ate their rations which Pharaoh gave them; therefore they did not sell their lands.

Genesis 47: 23 Then Joseph said to the people, “Indeed I have bought you and your land this day for Pharaoh. Look, here is seed for you, and you shall sow the land.

The meaning of this is if we do sin, our life becomes without food and there will come a famine where the word of God is not available and we will be made empty and the king of those who have sinned will be Pharaoh and they will be given to his hand. Then the word of God, which is the seed, grain when it will be sown there, we (those who are sinning) because we are the slaves of Pharaoh, in the harvest one-fifth of that belongs to Pharaoh. The remaining Four-fifths shall be your own, as seed for the field and for your food, for those of your households and as food for your little ones.” In this manner, many of us are living as slaves to Pharaoh.

So Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions there and grew and multiplied exceedingly.

How the Israelites grew and multiplied is that because they had possessions of the lands of the Egyptians they grew and multiplied and they were increasing in strength.

Body and land which is said is shown as a pattern by God as each soul. When the seed, grain is sown in the land, when God's words, which are the seeds are sown in our soul God's kingdom is manifested in us. In this manner, Israelites, took possessions of the lands of Egypt (the souls) and are growing and multiplying greatly. Churches are continually growing.

In order for God to do powerful things in Egypt, and to correct Israel and to destroy Pharaoh, God predestined this and took Joseph there and in Egypt Israel dies.

These things are a sign that for our sins, our Lord Jesus Christ is crucified on the cross in the place called by spiritual meaning as Egypt and Sodom. This is mentioned in the verse in Revelation 11:8.

When we say spiritual meaning, our spirit, soul and body if these are under the bondage of sin, then the ruler of this will be Pharaoh, the land will be Egypt and the city will be manifested as Sodom.

Therefore, my dear people of God, today in our soul let us accept God's word so that from our soul the river of living water, which is Christ is manifested and let us submit ourselves completely, die to sin and live unto righteousness.

Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all.
