“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Psalms 25: 20
Keep my soul, and deliver me; Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church should be as those who do things which are upright for the Lord.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should destroy the idolatry thoughts and appearances in our soul and leave all our traditional habits and let us seek the Lord carefully
Next what we are meditating upon is that 2 Kings 13: 20 – 25 Then Elisha died, and they buried him. And the raiding bands from Moab invaded the land in the spring of the year.
So it was, as they were burying a man, that suddenly they spied a band of raiders; and they put the man in the tomb of Elisha; and when the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet.
And Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
But the Lord was gracious to them, had compassion on them, and regarded them, because of His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not yet destroy them or cast them from His presence.
Now Hazael king of Syria died. Then Ben-Hadad his son reigned in his place.
And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz recaptured from the hand of Ben-Hadad, the son of Hazael, the cities which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times Joash defeated him and recaptured the cities of Israel.
According to the above-mentioned verses, Elisha, the man of God told Joash, the king of Israel when he had become sick with the illness of which he would die that you will strike Syria only three times and he is telling this to Joash. Then Elisha died, and they buried him.
My dear people, when we meditate upon the above-mentioned words of God, if we do not live completely holy and if we keep doing wicked deeds of abomination then we can never receive peace in our life and in our soul if we keep thoughts of abomination and seek the Lord then it will create an opportunity of the enemy to continue to work in us and if we will not walk according to the true words of the Lord then the pride of the Moabites will come within us; that will be an abomination before the Lord. Also, in our life if there are thoughts of pride within us then we will not be able to receive the life of Christ and our soul will die. In this manner, if our dead soul must receive life when the Spirit of the Lord touches them the dead soul will attain life. Also, when they put the body of the man in the tomb of Elisha and when it touched the bones of Elisha, that man attained life and stood on his feet. God is showing this as a pattern because if we believe in Christ even if he dies, he will live, and the Lord is explaining what is written in the word of the Lord. Also, Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz. But the reason why the Lord was gracious to the above-mentioned kings is that because of the Lord’s covenant with his servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, so he would not destroy them or cast them from His presence but he has compassion upon them and he is thinking about them means that our God who sees the iniquity that we do every day is protecting us till now means that it is because of the covenant of love that he has kept upon us only. Therefore, with his grace he is holding us every day. In this manner, only because of the grace that the Lord has kept upon us we are able to receive back some things which have been lost by our forefathers. We must bear this in mind and everyday in the feet of the Lord we must do things which are upright and submit ourselves to live for him.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
