“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Jeremiah 15: 20
And I will make you to this people a fortified bronze wall; and they will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you; For I am with you to save you and deliver you,” says the Lord.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church should destroy the idolatry thoughts and appearances in our soul and leave all our traditional habits and let us seek the Lord carefully
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should be as those who do deeds within Christ for eternal life to abide in us.
Next what we are meditating upon is that 2 Kings 13: 10 – 19 In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz became king over Israel in Samaria and reigned sixteen years.
And he did evil in the sight of the Lord. He did not depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin, but walked in them.
Now the rest of the acts of Joash, all that he did, and his might with which he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
So Joash rested with his fathers. Then Jeroboam sat on his throne. And Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
Elisha had become sick with the illness of which he would die. Then Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over his face, and said, “O my father, my father, the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!”
And Elisha said to him, “Take a bow and some arrows.” So he took himself a bow and some arrows.
Then he said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow.” So he put his hand on it, and Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands.
And he said, “Open the east window”; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot”; and he shot. And he said, “The arrow of the Lord’s deliverance and the arrow of deliverance from Syria; for you must strike the Syrians at Aphek till you have destroyed them.”
Then he said, “Take the arrows”; so he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground”; so he struck three times and stopped.
And the man of God was angry with him, and said, “You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times.”
In the above-mentioned verses, after Jehoahaz the king of Israel died his son Jehoash became king in his place. At that time it was the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah. But Jehoash, the king of Israel reigned in Samaria for sixteen years and did evil in the sight of the Lord. Then Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over his face, and said, “O my father, my father, the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!” And Elisha said to him, “Take a bow and some arrows.” So he took himself a bow and some arrows. Then he said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow.” So he put his hand on it, and Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands. And he said, “Open the east window”; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot”; and he shot. And he said, “The arrow of the Lord’s deliverance and the arrow of deliverance from Syria; for you must strike the Syrians at Aphek till you have destroyed them.” Then he said, “Take the arrows”; so he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground”; so he struck three times and stopped. And the man of God was angry with him, and said, “You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times.”
My dear people, when we meditate upon the above-mentioned words, we see that the sins that the father did are being continually done by the son. Therefore, in the days of his reign to seek the help of the Lord when Elisha had become sick with the illness of which he would die he is going to him. In spite of that we are able to understand when we read that he was not given the complete inheritance. That is, because he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the sign that the man of God showed him as a pattern was that only if we open the heart, which is the window for the Lord completely and submit ourselves and receive salvation only then he said in Aphek you can destroy the Syrians completely. Then the man of God said that you will strike the Syrians only three times means that if we do not serve the Lord with our whole soul then the evil deeds in our soul, which are the idols and thoughts cannot be removed from us and he is explaining this. Therefore, my dear people if we do not remove the evil deeds, which are idols which are there in our soul then it will be difficult to receive deliverance from this our generation, who are our children and the church, our children. Let us seek the Lord truthfully so that our sin does not follow and catch our generations. Therefore my dear people who are reading this, we who are anointed by the Lord should seek the Lord carefully and let us submit ourselves to save us and our generations.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
