“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

John 6: 27

Do not labour for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen

We, the bride, the church should be as those who do deeds within Christ for eternal life to abide in us.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we must be dependant only upon the Lord because the Lord has given us, the bride, the church a Saviour.

Next what we are meditating upon is that 2 Kings 13: 7 – 9 For He left of the army of Jehoahaz only fifty horsemen, ten chariots, and ten-thousand-foot soldiers; for the king of Syria had destroyed them and made them like the dust at threshing.

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, all that he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

So Jehoahaz rested with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria. Then Joash his son reigned in his place.

In the above-mentioned verses what is written is that the king of Syria gave Joash fifty horsemen, ten chariots, and ten-thousand-foot soldiers; for the king of Syria had destroyed them and made them like the dust at threshing. Also, because he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat who made Israel to do sins so we can read that he gave Joash into the hands of the Syrians and made them like dust. Also, Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, all that he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? So Jehoahaz rested with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria. Then Joash his son reigned in his place.

My dear people, from this what we must come to know is that even though we do many things according to the Lord, if there is idol worship and such spirits of harlotry in a small manner in us it will deceive many people of God. Therefore it is said that the Lord makes us like dust. Regarding this in Isaiah 29: 3 – 5 I will encamp against you all around, I will lay siege against you with a mound, and I will raise siegeworks against you.

You shall be brought down, you shall speak out of the ground; Your speech shall be low, out of the dust; Your voice shall be like a medium’s, out of the ground; and your speech shall whisper out of the dust.

“Moreover the multitude of your foes shall be like fine dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones like chaff that passes away; Yes, it shall be in an instant, suddenly.

In the above-mentioned verses, we must be very careful. When we keep this in fact the Israelites when they were being oppressed by the Syrians when Joash looked at the presence of the Lord and prayed then the Lord saw the oppression of the Israelites and listened to them. But because he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam, he is making the Israelites like dust means that he is destroying all the deeds of the Israelites. In this manner in our life also the Lord sometimes will answer our prayer but if we will not leave the things that we must leave then he will take away the eternal life that is there within us. Therefore we must always obey the voice of the Lord and submit ourselves so that eternal life will abide in us.

Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
