“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
1 Corinthians 10: 21
You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church should be as the cup of the bread of the gospel of Christ.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated along with patterns that if our soul, the bride, the church dies then our Lord Jesus Christ is the one who revives us again.
Next what we are meditating upon is that 2 Kings 4: 38 – 44 And Elisha returned to Gilgal, and there was a famine in the land. Now the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, “Put on the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”
So one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered from it a lapful of wild gourds, and came and sliced them into the pot of stew, though they did not know what they were.
Then they served it to the men to eat. Now it happened, as they were eating the stew, that they cried out and said, “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it.
So he said, “Then bring some flour.” And he put it into the pot, and said, “Serve it to the people, that they may eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot.
Then a man came from Baal Shalisha and brought the man of God bread of the first fruits, twenty loaves of barley bread, and newly ripened grain in his knapsack. And he said, “Give it to the people, that they may eat.”
But his servant said, “What? Shall I set this before one hundred men?” He said again, “Give it to the people, that they may eat; for thus says the Lord: ‘They shall eat and have some left over.’”
So he set it before them; and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord.
In the above-mentioned verses, Elisha returned to Gilgal, and there was a famine in the land. Now the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, “Put on the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.” So one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered from it a lapful of wild gourds, and came and sliced them into the pot of stew, though they did not know what they were. And he said, “Give it to the people, that they may eat.” But his servant said, “What? Shall I set this before one hundred men?” He said again, “Give it to the people, that they may eat; for thus says the Lord: ‘They shall eat and have some left over.’” So he set it before them; and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord.
My dear people, in the previous verses what is written is that Elisha, the man of God when he returned to Gilgal there was famine in the land and so the sons of the prophets came to him. They came to him and what is being shown to us as a pattern is that after the Lord has brought us from Egypt if there is no excess of word of God in us then our soul is hungry. Because of this the Lord as a judgement he is telling us to boil stew. The reason for this is that the sons of the prophets because they did not give the fruits according to the Lord there is famine occurring there. Stew means it shows the works of the flesh. This is the judgement of the Lord. To boil the stew the one who went to gather herbs gathered from a lapful of wild gourds and came means it shows the thoughts of the flesh in the soul. In this manner many servants of God are deceived and do not know what they are eating. In this manner, they eat, and the soul is dying and to know this God is showing this as a pattern. But we must escape from this judgement of the Lord. In this manner God is showing us a way to escape as a pattern. Elisha is saying to bring some flour and when he said to put it in the pot and take it, and their harm was gone. Flour is the true word of God and if we accept it death will be removed, and we will live, and this is to be noted. Then when we see what is said as bread of the first fruits, twenty loaves of barley bread, and newly ripened grain the fact regarding this is that: the words of gospel of Christ which are the twenty loaves of bread by those who are redeemed by him those who have the fullness of grace it is given to more than hundred people and then we can see that they also had remaining. From this what we come to know is that the living word of God, the bread which the Lord blesses will increase a lot. Therefore we must be the cup of the blessing of the Lord which is the bread and to change as those with fullness of grace let us submit ourselves.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
