“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
James 4: 10
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church should never make the Lord angry and we must humble ourselves.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should be as the vineyard (the kingdom of God) of Christ.
Next what we are meditating upon is that 1 Kings 21: 17 – 29 Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
“Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who lives in Samaria. There he is, in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone down to take possession of it.
You shall speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Have you murdered and also taken possession?” And you shall speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord: “In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, dogs shall lick your blood, even yours.”
So Ahab said to Elijah, “Have you found me, O my enemy?” And he answered, “I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do evil in the sight of the Lord:
‘Behold, I will bring calamity on you. I will take away your posterity and will cut off from Ahab every male in Israel, both bond and free.
I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, because of the provocation with which you have provoked Me to anger, and made Israel sin.’
And concerning Jezebel the Lord also spoke, saying, ‘The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.’
The dogs shall eat whoever belongs to Ahab and dies in the city, and the birds of the air shall eat whoever dies in the field.”
But there was no one like Ahab who sold himself to do wickedness in the sight of the Lord, because Jezebel his wife stirred him up.
And he behaved very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites had done, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
So it was, when Ahab heard those words, that he tore his clothes and put sackcloth on his body, and fasted and lay in sackcloth, and went about mourning.
And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
“See how Ahab has humbled himself before Me? Because he has humbled himself before Me, I will not bring the calamity in his days. In the days of his son I will bring the calamity on his house.”
When we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses, when Ahab got up to take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, “Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who lives in Samaria. There he is, in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone down to take possession of it. You shall speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Have you murdered and also taken possession?” And you shall speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord: “In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, dogs shall lick your blood, even yours.” So Ahab said to Elijah, “Have you found me, O my enemy?” And he answered, “I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do evil in the sight of the Lord: ‘Behold, I will bring calamity on you. I will take away your posterity and will cut off from Ahab every male in Israel, both bond and free. I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, because of the provocation with which you have provoked Me to anger and made Israel sin.’ And concerning Jezebel the Lord also spoke, saying, ‘The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.’ The dogs shall eat whoever belongs to Ahab and dies in the city, and the birds of the air shall eat whoever dies in the field.” But there was no one like Ahab who sold himself to do wickedness in the sight of the Lord, because Jezebel his wife stirred him up. And he behaved very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites had done, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel. So it was, when Ahab heard those words, that he tore his clothes and put sackcloth on his body, and fasted and lay in sackcloth, and went about mourning. And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, “See how Ahab has humbled himself before Me? Because he has humbled himself before Me, I will not bring the calamity in his days. In the days of his son I will bring the calamity on his house.”
My dear people, the above-mentioned verses are given to us as a pattern. If we do not possess the salvation completely and become the garden of the Lord and if due to the deeds of Ahab and the cunningness of Jezebel, our soul is killed and our soul becomes under the bondage of Satan, and we are under the bondage of false prophets. Therefore, the word of the Lord in Philippians 3: 2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!
According to what is mentioned above we must be careful in everything and safeguard our soul. If we are not careful and do not safeguard our soul according to the truth of the Lord, then the devil will come to make us as his own. But our God will not submit us to this, and he sends Christ within us and to save us with a sound of warning he comes within us. In this manner, the Lord along with his sound of warning when he speaks to us just like how king Ahab humbled himself if we will humble and submit ourselves then he will remove his anger from us. Not only that but like the sin of Jeroboam our sin will not follow us and he will not make others partake in sin and he will not make us as an abomination by any idols of hell so that we are not caught by the words or counsel of the harlot and we must safeguard ourselves always and in Christ we must make ourselves steadfast and submit ourselves to live for the Lord.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
