“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Proverbs 24: 5
A wise man is strong, yes, a man of knowledge increases strength;
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
Our soul, the bride, the church should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, and we must safeguard ourselves.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that the Lord is the one who will lead us, the bride, the church in paths which we do not think.
Next what we are meditating upon is that 1 Kings 20: 1 – 4 Now Ben-Hadad the king of Syria gathered all his forces together; thirty-two kings were with him, with horses and chariots. And he went up and besieged Samaria and made war against it.
Then he sent messengers into the city to Ahab king of Israel, and said to him, “Thus says Ben-Hadad:
‘Your silver and your gold are mine; your loveliest wives and children are mine.’”
And the king of Israel answered and said, “My lord, O king, just as you say, I and all that I have are yours.”
When we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses, the Lord used Elijah to anoint Hazael as king over Syria and he anointed Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel and he said you shall anoint Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah as prophet in your place. In this manner he is anointing Elisha and he is making him follow Elijah and do the ministry. Now Ben-Hadad the king of Syria gathered all his forces together; thirty-two kings were with him, with horses and chariots. And he went up and besieged Samaria and made war against it. Then he sent messengers into the city to Ahab king of Israel, and said to him, “Thus says Ben-Hadad: ‘Your silver and your gold are mine; your loveliest wives and children are mine.’” And the king of Israel answered and said, “My lord, O king, just as you say, I and all that I have are yours.” Then the messengers that Ben-Hadad sent came back and said in 1 Kings 20: 5, 6 Then the messengers came back and said, “Thus speaks Ben-Hadad, saying, ‘Indeed I have sent to you, saying, “You shall deliver to me your silver and your gold, your wives and your children”
but I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, and they shall search your house and the houses of your servants. And it shall be, that whatever is pleasant in your eyes, they will put it in their hands and take it.’”
Ahab who heard the above-mentioned words called all the elders of the land, and said, “Notice, please, and see how this man seeks trouble, for he sent to me for my wives, my children, my silver, and my gold; and I did not deny him.” And all the elders and all the people said to him, “Do not listen or consent.” Therefore he said to the messengers of Ben-Hadad in 1 Kings 20: 9 Therefore he said to the messengers of Ben-Hadad, “Tell my lord the king, ‘All that you sent for to your servant the first time I will do, but this thing I cannot do.’” And the messengers departed and brought back word to him.
Ben-Hadad who heard these words sent messengers to him and told the King of Israel in 1 Kings 20: 10 Then Ben-Hadad sent to him and said, “The gods do so to me, and more also, if enough dust is left of Samaria for a handful for each of the people who follow me.”
The King of Israel who heard these words replied that “Tell him, ‘Let not the one who puts on his armor boast like the one who takes it off.’”
My dear people, when we meditate upon the above-mentioned words of the Lord if we will give place in our soul for the deeds of Baal that is Ahab then the Syrian will quickly work in our soul and will try to take away the good which is there within us, and this is a pattern for that. Also, sometimes we become afraid due to the threatening of the Gentiles. Therefore we must be very careful always and should not fear the Gentiles and with hope in the Lord we must be as those will fullness of grace. Also, with the fellowship of the saints we must receive their counsel and everyday we must be as those who grow in the Spirit. That is, we must never be unequally yoked with unbelievers. Regarding this, the word of God in 2 Corinthians 6: 14 – 18 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?
And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”
Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”
“I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.”
Therefore my dear people, we must always be as the children of God and he as our Father and let us submit ourselves for this.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
