“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Jeremiah 33: 3
Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
The Lord is the one who will lead us, the bride, the church in paths which we do not think.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should not become weary but do good deeds and put on the strength of the Lord and in the journey of faith let us attain the holy mountain.
Next what we are meditating upon is that 1 Kings 19: 9 – 21 And there he went into a cave, and spent the night in that place; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
So he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.”
Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake;
and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
And he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; because the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.”
Then the Lord said to him: “Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria.
Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place.
It shall be that whoever escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and whoever escapes the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill.
Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.”
So he departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he was with the twelfth. Then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him.
And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?”
So Elisha turned back from him and took a yoke of oxen and slaughtered them and boiled their flesh, using the oxen’s equipment, and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah and became his servant.
In the above-mentioned verses, Elijah received the strength of the Lord and walked for forty days and reached Mount Horeb and when he went and stayed in a cave there behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” So he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.” Then the Lord in 1 Kings 19: 11, 12 Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake;
and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
After it happened as mentioned above, when the still small voice was heard then Elijah wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” So Elijah said in 1 Kings 19: 14 And he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; because the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.”
The Lord who heard the above-mentioned words told Elijah in 1 Kings 19: 16 – 18 Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel.
When the Lord said the above-mentioned words to Elijah then he departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he was with the twelfth. Then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him. And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?” So Elisha turned back from him and took a yoke of oxen and slaughtered them and boiled their flesh, using the oxen’s equipment, and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah and became his servant.
My dear people, when we receive the strength of the Lord we must never be weary due to our enemies and should not go into the cave and he is telling us to stand on the mountain. Mountain means the church of the Lord. In the church of the Lord the Lord is manifested. Each one of us should change into the mountain of the Lord. Then each one of us will become his church. He will be manifested from us. How he is manifested is that through a still small voice he is manifested. In this manner, he manifests in us, and he is the one who speaks to us. Whoever may chase us he will judge them. If we will be truthful to the Lord, he will do for us things which are great and mighty, things which we do not know. Therefore my dear people, we must never be weary and be as those who are truthful. In this manner, let us submit ourselves to the Lord.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
