“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Isaiah 55: 13
Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; And it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church should never become bound to cursed things in our life and safeguard ourselves.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated we, the bride, the church should not put our name to lands.
Next what we are meditating upon is that 1 Kings 16: 29 – 34 In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri became king over Israel; and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.
Now Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord, more than all who were before him.
And it came to pass, as though it had been a trivial thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians; and he went and served Baal and worshiped him.
Then he set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
And Ahab made a wooden image. Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.
In his days Hiel of Bethel built Jericho. He laid its foundation with Abiram his firstborn, and with his youngest son Segub he set up its gates, according to the word of the Lord, which He had spoken through Joshua the son of Nun.
In the above-mentioned verses, Omri did evil against the Lord and after he had rested with his fathers and buried in Samaria his son Ahab became king in his place.
My dear people, the above-mentioned word of the Lord is that from the reign of Jeroboam we see that the people of Israel are committing sin and the sins of Jeroboam are continuing. Also, the kings are thinking that these are trivial sins and so there the sins are increasing again. No one realized this. In this manner only many among us do wicked things and are getting spoiled. In the soul of such people the bonds of curse which were destroyed and broken by the Lord will raise their head again and he is showing this as a pattern, and we see Hiel building Jericho. That is, the word of God through Joshua was that if we begin to build Jericho again then when we put its foundation the firstborn and while setting up the gates his youngest son will be given to death and according to this word it happened to Hiel. Therefore Jericho means the experience that was there before our salvation. In this manner, if we bring the cursed things that we have left again in our life our soul will die. Also we will be as those without fruits and be destroyed. The Christian life that we have lived will be made nothing and empty. Therefore, we who have received salvation should ensure that we never become cursed and we must safeguard ourselves carefully and submit ourselves.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
