“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Proverbs 25: 11
A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church should be careful not to eat or drink or stay in any place without the will of the Lord so that our soul will not be deceived and will be safeguarded.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we must safeguard our soul, the altar, the bride, the church so that the anger of God will not come upon us.
Next what we are meditating upon is that 1 Kings 13: 7 – 17 Then the king said to the man of God, “Come home with me and refresh yourself, and I will give you a reward.”
But the man of God said to the king, “If you were to give me half your house, I would not go in with you; nor would I eat bread nor drink water in this place.
For so it was commanded me by the word of the Lord, saying, ‘You shall not eat bread, nor drink water, nor return by the same way you came.’”
So he went another way and did not return by the way he came to Bethel.
Now an old prophet dwelt in Bethel, and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel; they also told their father the words which he had spoken to the king.
And their father said to them, “Which way did he go?” For his sons had seen which way the man of God went who came from Judah.
Then he said to his sons, “Saddle the donkey for me.” So they saddled the donkey for him; and he rode on it,
and went after the man of God and found him sitting under an oak. Then he said to him, “Are you the man of God who came from Judah?” And he said, “I am.”
Then he said to him, “Come home with me and eat bread.”
And he said, “I cannot return with you nor go in with you; neither can I eat bread nor drink water with you in this place.
For I have been told by the word of the Lord, ‘You shall not eat bread nor drink water there, nor return by going the way you came.’”
In the above-mentioned verses, in the life of King Jeroboam the anger of the Lord manifested, and he is telling the man of God who gave him the word of the Lord to pray for him. So the man of God entreated the Lord, and the king’s hand was restored to him, and became as before. Then the king said to the man of God, “Come home with me and refresh yourself, and I will give you a reward.” But the man of God said to the king, “If you were to give me half your house, I would not go in with you; nor would I eat bread nor drink water in this place. For so it was commanded me by the word of the Lord, saying, ‘You shall not eat bread, nor drink water, nor return by the same way you came.’” So he went another way and did not return by the way he came to Bethel. Now an old prophet dwelt in Bethel, and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel; they also told their father the words which he had spoken to the king. And their father said to them, “Which way did he go?” For his sons had seen which way the man of God went who came from Judah. Then he said to his sons, “Saddle the donkey for me.” So they saddled the donkey for him; and he rode on it, and went after the man of God and found him sitting under an oak. Then he said to him, “Are you the man of God who came from Judah?” And he said, “I am.” Then he said to him, “Come home with me and eat bread.” And he said, “I cannot return with you nor go in with you; neither can I eat bread nor drink water with you in this place. For I have been told by the word of the Lord, ‘You shall not eat bread nor drink water there, nor return by going the way you came.’”
My dear people, according to this word of God mentioned above whatever kind of kings, princes or elders if they do not offer the sacrifice to the Lord in the correct manner and if the counsel of the Lord manifests to us then we must not make a mistake in that counsel and we must be as those who reveal it. But even if we have pressures from them if we bear them for the Lord in the right time the Lord will come and will save us according to his will. We can see the greatness of God. Also, in the place where God says that we must not eat we must never eat. Here when we see God is showing us with a pattern, that is, bread and water the man of God came from Judah but did not drink in the house of Jeroboam. That is, it was the word of the Lord. The pattern is that bread and water means is the word of the Lord. We must not eat it from the churches which do abomination, that is worship of idols. Also by the blood of Christ we should be redeemed and when the inner man has received the image of God we must not go back to the traditional churches that we have left behind and eat the word of God and God is explaining this.
Therefore my dear people in the Lord, in any manner in the work of the Lord without the will of the Lord in any place we must not eat or drink and we must not go and be part of those who are worshipping with the spirit of abomination and we must understand this. In this manner, let us submit ourselves to walk carefully according to the above-mentioned facts and we must take care regarding this.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
