“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Hosea 11: 6
And the sword shall slash in his cities, devour his districts, and consume them, because of their own counsels.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church should give place for Damascus and Syria in our soul and in our spiritual life we must safeguard ourselves so that we do not fall.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that if we, the bride, the church do not obey the Lord then the Lord will make enemies rise against us.
Next what we are meditating upon is that 1 Kings 11: 21 So when Hadad heard in Egypt that David rested with his fathers, and that Joab the commander of the army was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, “Let me depart, that I may go to my own country.”
When we meditate upon the above-mentioned words the Lord made a man Hadad revolt against Solomon and then his son was brought up in the house of Pharoah. So when Hadad heard in Egypt that David rested with his fathers, and that Joab the commander of the army was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, “Let me depart, that I may go to my own country.” For that Pharaoh said in 1 Kings 11: 22 – 26 Then Pharaoh said to him, “But what have you lacked with me, that suddenly you seek to go to your own country?” So he answered, “Nothing, but do let me go anyway.”
And God raised up another adversary against him, Rezon the son of Eliadah, who had fled from his lord, Hadadezer king of Zobah.
So he gathered men to him and became captain over a band of raiders, when David killed those of Zobah. And they went to Damascus and dwelt there and reigned in Damascus.
He was an adversary of Israel all the days of Solomon (besides the trouble that Hadad caused); and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.
Then Solomon’s servant, Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite from Zereda, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow, also rebelled against the king.
The above-mentioned words are said by Pharaoah to Hadad. But God is raising up a second enemy the son of Eliadah against Solomon. He had fled from his lord, Hadadezer king of Zobah. So he gathered men to him and became captain over a band of raiders, when David killed those of Zobah. And they went to Damascus and dwelt there and reigned in Damascus. He was an adversary of Israel all the days of Solomon (besides the trouble that Hadad caused); and he abhorred Israel and reigned over Syria. Then Solomon’s servant, Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite from Zereda, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow, also rebelled against the king.
My dear people, when we meditate upon the facts regarding the above-mentioned verses, God is explaining many things to us as a pattern. That is, when we break the law of the Lord then the Lord in his anger is raising enemies against us. When he makes them arise in this manner then in our soul the deeds of Damascus and the King of Syria also enters and dwells within us and do not allow our spiritual life to grow and to make us fall the Lord is handing us over to the hands of the enemy. Therefore very carefully we must submit ourselves to safeguard our spiritual life.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
