“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Ecclesiastes 7: 12
For wisdom is a defence as money is a defence, but the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
In our soul, the bride, the church we should not give place to the spirit of harlotry.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that the supplication of us, the bride, the church should be pleasing to the Lord.
Next what we are meditating upon is that 1 Kings 3: 15 – 28 Then Solomon awoke; and indeed it had been a dream. And he came to Jerusalem and stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, offered up burnt offerings, offered peace offerings, and made a feast for all his servants.
Now two women who were harlots came to the king and stood before him.
And one woman said, “O my lord, this woman and I dwell in the same house; and I gave birth while she was in the house.
Then it happened, the third day after I had given birth, that this woman also gave birth. And we were together; no one was with us in the house, except the two of us in the house.
And this woman’s son died in the night, because she lay on him.
So she arose in the middle of the night and took my son from my side, while your maidservant slept, and laid him in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.
And when I rose in the morning to nurse my son, there he was, dead. But when I had examined him in the morning, indeed, he was not my son whom I had borne.”
Then the other woman said, “No! But the living one is my son, and the dead one is your son.” And the first woman said, “No! But the dead one is your son, and the living one is my son.” Thus they spoke before the king.
And the king said, “The one says, ‘This is my son, who lives, and your son is the dead one’; and the other says, ‘No! But your son is the dead one, and my son is the living one.’”
Then the king said, “Bring me a sword.” So they brought a sword before the king.
And the king said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to one, and half to the other.”
Then the woman whose son was living spoke to the king, for she yearned with compassion for her son; and she said, “O my lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill him!” But the other said, “Let him be neither mine nor yours, but divide him.”
So the king answered and said, “Give the first woman the living child, and by no means kill him; she is his mother.”
And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had rendered; and they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to administer justice.
In the above-mentioned verses, after the Lord spoke to Solomon in a dream he came to Jerusalem and stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, offered up burnt offerings, offered peace offerings, and made a feast for all his servants. Now two women who were harlots came to the king and stood before him and what they said is that both of them lived in one house and when they both lived in one house, they gave birth to a male child and after one woman gave birth it is said that on the third day the other woman gave birth. But except the two of them it is said that there was no one else inside that house. The woman who came first and spoke in her sleep at night lay on her son and slept and the child died. But what she told King Solomon she arose in the middle of the night and took my son from my side, while your maidservant slept, and laid him in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom. And when I rose in the morning to nurse my son, there he was, dead. But when I had examined him in the morning, indeed, he was not my son whom I had borne.” Then the other woman said, “No! But the living one is my son, and the dead one is your son.” Thus they argued before the king. Because these two women argued saying your son, my son the king says, “Bring me a sword.” So they brought a sword before the king. And the king said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to one, and half to the other.” Then the woman whose son was living spoke to the king, for she yearned with compassion for her son; and she said, “O my lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill him!” But the other said, “Let him be neither mine nor yours, but divide him.” So the king answered and said, “Give the first woman the living child, and by no means kill him; she is his mother.” And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had rendered; and they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to administer justice.
My dear people, why the Lord is showing this as a pattern is that before few days we meditated that in the midst of Israelites even now the spirit of harlotry is dwelling. Therefore, today it is being said that in one house two women of harlot lived and it is said that both of them gave birth to a male child. This shows our soul. That is, it is the two types of thoughts that are born in our soul that is Oholah means the deeds of the gentiles of Samaria and Oholibah is Jerusalem. Here, the dead deeds which have no repentance are the spirits of harlotry. This is being shown as a pattern to those who follow idols. But the pattern shows that more than Oholah, Oholibah was doing more harlotry. This is because Jerusalem means those who walk outwardly as children of Christ in disguise but do not obey the truthful word of God and in the soul because they do many desires of the world, lusts, decorations so more than Oholah, the deeds of Oholibah are being punished strongly by the Lord. Therefore, in Ezekiel 23: 36 – 49 The Lord also said to me: “Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Then declare to them their abominations.
For they have committed adultery, and blood is on their hands. They have committed adultery with their idols, and even sacrificed their sons whom they bore to Me, passing them through the fire, to devour them.
Moreover they have done this to Me: They have defiled My sanctuary on the same day and profaned My Sabbaths.
For after they had slain their children for their idols, on the same day they came into My sanctuary to profane it; and indeed thus they have done in the midst of My house.
“Furthermore you sent for men to come from afar, to whom a messenger was sent; and there they came. And you washed yourself for them, painted your eyes, and adorned yourself with ornaments.
You sat on a stately couch, with a table prepared before it, on which you had set My incense and My oil.
The sound of a carefree multitude was with her, and Sabeans were brought from the wilderness with men of the common sort, who put bracelets on their wrists and beautiful crowns on their heads.
Then I said concerning her who had grown old in adulteries, ‘Will they commit harlotry with her now, and she with them?’
Yet they went into her, as men go into a woman who plays the harlot; thus they went in to Oholah and Oholibah, the lewd women.
But righteous men will judge them after the manner of adulteresses, and after the manner of women who shed blood, because they are adulteresses, and blood is on their hands.
“For thus says the Lord God: ‘Bring up an assembly against them, give them up to trouble and plunder.
The assembly shall stone them with stones and execute them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters and burn their houses with fire.
Thus I will cause lewdness to cease from the land, that all women may be taught not to practice your lewdness.
They shall repay you for your lewdness, and you shall pay for your idolatrous sins. Then you shall know that I am the Lord God.’”
Let us meditate the above-mentioned verses so that our soul gains wisdom and let us submit ourselves to change to a New Jerusalem.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
