“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Psalms 51: 14
Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, The God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church should be careful regarding the salvation of our soul.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that our soul, the bride, the church should according to the will of the Lord follow his commandments, laws and judgements.
Next what we are meditating upon is that
1 Kings 2: 11, 12
The period that David reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years he reigned in Hebron, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years.
Then Solomon sat on the throne of his father David; and his kingdom was firmly established.
The period that David reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years he reigned in Hebron, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years. Then Solomon sat on the throne of his father David; and his kingdom was firmly established. Then regarding the things that happened
1 Kings 2: 13 – 22
Now Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. So she said, “Do you come peaceably?” And he said, “Peaceably.”
Moreover he said, “I have something to say to you.” And she said, “Say it.”
Then he said, “You know that the kingdom was mine, and all Israel had set their expectations on me, that I should reign. However, the kingdom has been turned over, and has become my brother’s; for it was his from the Lord.
Now I ask one petition of you; do not deny me.” And she said to him, “Say it.”
Then he said, “Please speak to King Solomon, for he will not refuse you, that he may give me Abishag the Shunammite as wife.”
So Bathsheba said, “Very well, I will speak for you to the king.”
Bathsheba therefore went to King Solomon, to speak to him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her and bowed down to her and sat down on his throne and had a throne set for the king’s mother; so she sat at his right hand.
Then she said, “I desire one small petition of you; do not refuse me.” And the king said to her, “Ask it, my mother, for I will not refuse you.”
So she said, “Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah your brother as wife.”
And King Solomon answered and said to his mother, “Now why do you ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom also—for he is my older brother—for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.”
In the above-mentioned verses, Adonijah came to Bathsheba to ask Solomon permission to marry Abishag but she is also agreeing to it and is going to speak to Solomon. But Solomon when he saw his mother Bathsheba, he rose up to meet her and bowed down to her and sat down on his throne and had a throne set for the king’s mother; so she sat at his right hand. Then when she is telling King Solomon to get Abishag married to Adonijah King Solomon answered and said to his mother, Ask for him the kingdom also—for he is my older brother—for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah. Then King Solomon swore by the Lord, saying, “May God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life! Now therefore, as the Lord lives, who has confirmed me and set me on the throne of David my father, and who has established a house for me, as He promised, Adonijah shall be put to death today!” So King Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he struck him down, and he died. And to Abiathar the priest the king said, “Go to Anathoth, to your own fields, for you are deserving of death; but I will not put you to death at this time, because you carried the ark of the Lord God before my father David, and because you were afflicted every time my father was afflicted.” So Solomon removed Abiathar from being priest to the Lord, that he might fulfill the word of the Lord which He spoke concerning the house of Eli at Shiloh.
My dear people, according to the above-mentioned verses after our soul has received the anointing of salvation, if anyone asks us for any help regarding any thing in the flesh we must not fall in our own counsel and safeguard ourselves. This is because we must be careful that evil deeds do not come into our house and safeguard ourselves. Not only that but we must be careful and walk carefully with those who help to do evil deeds. Also, we must not give place in our life for any priests without honour but our priest, Christ should resurrect in our soul. If he does not resurrect within us in this manner, our soul is dishonouring God. Also, in our soul so that evil deeds do not arise we must destroy them in the beginning itself. Not only that but if anyone is a companion for doing such kind of evil deeds, we must never keep them by our side. In this manner, let us submit ourselves to destroy the evil thoughts which are against the salvation of our soul.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
