“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Psalms 31: 24
Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church should be as a steadfast witness for the Lord.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church each one of us should be as those who have a thirst for souls.
Next what we are meditating upon is that
2 Samuel 23: 16 – 23
So the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines, drew water from the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, and took it and brought it to David. Nevertheless he would not drink it but poured it out to the Lord.
And he said, “Far be it from me, O Lord, that I should do this! Is this not the blood of the men who went in jeopardy of their lives?” Therefore he would not drink it. These things were done by the three mighty men.
Now Abishai the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief of another three. He lifted his spear against three hundred men, killed them, and won a name among these three.
Was he not the most honoured of three? Therefore he became their captain. However, he did not attain to the first three.
Benaiah was the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man from Kabzeel, who had done many deeds. He had killed two lion-like heroes of Moab. He also had gone down and killed a lion in the midst of a pit on a snowy day.
And he killed an Egyptian, a spectacular man. The Egyptian had a spear in his hand; so he went down to him with a staff, wrested the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and killed him with his own spear.
These things Benaiah the son of Jehoiada did and won a name among three mighty men.
He was more honoured than the thirty, but he did not attain to the first three. And David appointed him over his guard.
According to the above-mentioned verses, when David asked who is bringing water for him for his thirst the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines, drew water from the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, and took it and brought it to David. Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty. Whom they were is that in
2 Samuel 23: 24 – 39
Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,
Abiezer the Anathothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,

Benaiah a Pirathonite, Hiddai from the brooks of Gaash,
Abi-Albon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,
Eliahba the Shaalbonite (of the sons of Jashen), Jonathan,
Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Hararite,
Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maachathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,
Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,
Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,
Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite (armorbearer of Joab the son of Zeruiah),

and Uriah the Hittite: thirty-seven in all.
My dear people, in the above-mentioned portions the mighty men that we are reading about are those who have put on the strength of God. He is showing them as a pattern to the bride, the church and he is the mighty one who stands in our midst and fights for us and manifests the power of his kingdom and he is the one who harvests the soul. Also, Christ who is the harvester of the souls from within us enters into the souls of the people in the camps of the Philistines (churches of the world) and delivers the people from the midst of the Philistines, saves them and not only is he showing how he is taking them as a pattern but in this manner upon those who live in this manner for him without caring about their life truthfully for the Lord he is very careful and protects them so that no danger comes upon them. Also, those who have received the strength of the Lord will lead the souls whom they have harvested for the Lord will deliver them from evil deeds, which are the evil teachings from their lives and will lead them in the path of salvation. This is what is shown as a pattern that he killed two lion like heroes. Also, from where the evil teaching arises God judges that church as well. Also, those who have put on the strength of the Lord will destroy the mightiness that arises from the souls of those harvested by the truthful word of God and he is showing this as a pattern. In this manner, let us submit ourselves as a steadfast witness for the Lord and let us renew and strengthen ourselves.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
