“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
1 Peter 2: 4, 5
Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious,
you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church each one of us should be built as a spiritual house.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should not unite with those who do not do the will of the Lord.
Next what we are meditating upon is that
2 Samuel 17: 24 - 29
Then David went to Mahanaim. And Absalom crossed over the Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.
And Absalom made Amasa captain of the army instead of Joab. This Amasa was the son of a man whose name was Jithra, an Israelite, who had gone in to Abigail the daughter of Nahash, sister of Zeruiah, Joab’s mother.
So Israel and Absalom encamped in the land of Gilead.
Now it happened, when David had come to Mahanaim, that Shobi the son of Nahash from Rabbah of the people of Ammon, Machir the son of Ammiel from Lo Debar, and Barzillai the Gileadite from Rogelim,
brought beds and basins, earthen vessels and wheat, barley and flour, parched grain and beans, lentils and parched seeds,
honey and curds, sheep and cheese of the herd, for David and the people who were with him to eat. For they said, “The people are hungry and weary and thirsty in the wilderness.”
In the above-mentioned words of the Lord, we see that Ahithophel hanged himself and died. Then David went to Mahanaim. And Absalom crossed over the Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him. And Absalom made Amasa captain of the army instead of Joab. This Amasa was the son of a man whose name was Jithra, an Israelite, who had gone into Abigail the daughter of Nahash, sister of Zeruiah, Joab’s mother. So Israel and Absalom encamped in the land of Gilead. Now it happened, when David had come to Mahanaim, that Shobi the son of Nahash from Rabbah of the people of Ammon, Machir the son of Ammiel from Lo Debar, and Barzillai the Gileadite from Rogelim, brought beds and basins, earthen vessels and wheat, barley and flour, parched grain and beans, lentils and parched seeds, honey and curds, sheep and cheese of the herd, for David and the people who were with him to eat. For they said, “The people are hungry and weary and thirsty in the wilderness.”
My dear people, when we meditate upon the above-mentioned words, we see that fight is nearing for the place of the king. But this is being shown as a pattern for the spiritual fight. That is, within us the throne of our Lord Jesus Christ should be established in righteousness and justice but against that the evil spirit to push us into hell and to fill us with unrighteousness and injustice it will keep working in our soul. If we want to be filled with these things by the grace of God, then within our inner man we must receive holiness. Also, according to the holy life to receive a pure soul we must be filled with God’s righteousness and justice. For that God is showing this as a pattern and when David came to Mahanaim for war we see the plenty of things that he is getting there. These are a pattern of the spiritual rewards. Therefore, we in our everyday life for God to give us the necessary grace and to build us as a spiritual house and fill us with righteousness and justice and to fight with the enemy and receive victory let us submit ourselves to the Lord.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
