“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Proverbs 21: 15
It is a joy for the just to do justice, but destruction will come to the workers of iniquity.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church will not be punished by the Lord without any mistakes.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should confess the sin that came due to our thoughts of flesh, and we must safeguard our soul.
Next what we are meditating upon is that
2 Samuel 13: 33 – 39
Now therefore, let not my lord the king take the thing to his heart, to think that all the king’s sons are dead. For only Amnon is dead.”
Then Absalom fled. And the young man who was keeping watch lifted his eyes and looked, and there, many people were coming from the road on the hillside behind him.
And Jonadab said to the king, “Look, the king’s sons are coming; as your servant said, so it is.”
So it was, as soon as he had finished speaking, that the king’s sons indeed came, and they lifted up their voice and wept. Also the king and all his servants wept very bitterly.
But Absalom fled and went to Talmai the son of Ammihud, king of Geshur. And David mourned for his son every day.
So Absalom fled and went to Geshur and was there three years.
And King David longed to go to Absalom. For he had been comforted concerning Amnon, because he was dead.
In the above-mentioned verses, Jonadab the son of Shimeah, David’s brother, is telling David that the news that came to David that David’s sons, all the princes are killed was wrong and that let not my lord suppose they have killed all the young men, the king’s sons, for only Amnon is dead. He is telling him that Absalom fled. And the young man who was keeping watch lifted his eyes and looked, and there, many people were coming from the road on the hillside behind him. And Jonadab said to the king, “Look, the king’s sons are coming; as your servant said, so it is.” So it was, as soon as he had finished speaking, that the king’s sons indeed came, and they lifted up their voice and wept. Also the king and all his servants wept very bitterly. But Absalom fled and went to Talmai the son of Ammihud, king of Geshur. And David mourned for his son every day. So Absalom fled and went to Geshur and was there three years. And King David longed to go to Absalom. For he had been comforted concerning Amnon because he was dead.
My dear people, when we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses, the princes mean God is showing that as a pattern to our soul which is anointed by the Lord. Also, whomever it may be God judges in the same manner. That is, Ammon fell in sin, infatuation, and lust. But the news that the other sons of David were dead was a wrong news. Therefore God is not the one who punishes those who have not done mistakes and we can know this. Also, what we must realize is that though we are anointed by God, the enemy will pull the soul in sinful infatuations. Therefore we must not be deceived and safeguard ourselves. That is, if our soul is deceived and destroyed, we must realize that the Lord is grieved greatly for us and we must carefully safeguard our holiness. Let us submit ourselves.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
