“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Matthew 10: 28
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church should confess the sin that came due to our thoughts of flesh and we must safeguard our soul.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should not give place to any evil thoughts, and we must separate our mind and safeguard ourselves.
Next what we are meditating upon is that 2 Samuel 13: 23 – 27 And it came to pass, after two full years, that Absalom had sheepshearers in Baal Hazor, which is near Ephraim; so Absalom invited all the king’s sons.
Then Absalom came to the king and said, “Kindly note, your servant has sheepshearers; please, let the king and his servants go with your servant.”
But the king said to Absalom, “No, my son, let us not all go now, lest we be a burden to you.” Then he urged him, but he would not go; and he blessed him.
Then Absalom said, “If not, please let my brother Amnon go with us.” And the king said to him, “Why should he go with you?”
But Absalom urged him; so he let Amnon and all the king’s sons go with him.
In the above-mentioned verses, because Ammon forced Absalom’s sister, so Absalom hated Ammon. And it came to pass, after two full years, that Absalom had sheepshearers in Baal Hazor, which is near Ephraim; so Absalom invited all the king’s sons. Then Absalom came to the king and said, “Kindly note, your servant has sheepshearers; please, let the king and his servants go with your servant.” But the king said to Absalom, “No, my son, let us not all go now, lest we be a burden to you.” Then he urged him, but he would not go; and he blessed him. Then Absalom said, “If not, please let my brother Amnon go with us.” And the king said to him, “Why should he go with you?” But Absalom urged him; so he let Amnon, and all the king’s sons go with him.
Then Absalom commanded his servants in 2 Samuel 13: 28 – 30 Now Absalom had commanded his servants, saying, “Watch now, when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine, and when I say to you, ‘Strike Amnon!’ then kill him. Do not be afraid. Have I not commanded you? Be courageous and valiant.”
So the servants of Absalom did to Amnon as Absalom had commanded. Then all the king’s sons arose, and each one got on his mule and fled.
And it came to pass, while they were on the way, that news came to David, saying, “Absalom has killed all the king’s sons, and not one of them is left!”
In the above-mentioned verses, just like what Absalom commanded his servants they did to Ammon. Then all the king’s sons arose, and each one got on his mule and fled. And it came to pass, while they were on the way, that news came to David, saying, “Absalom has killed all the king’s sons, and not one of them is left!” When the king heard this, he arose and tore his garments and lay on the ground, and all his servants stood by with their clothes torn. Then Jonadab the son of Shimeah, David’s brother, answered and said, in 2 Samuel 13: 32 Then Jonadab the son of Shimeah, David’s brother, answered and said, “Let not my lord suppose they have killed all the young men, the king’s sons, for only Amnon is dead. For by the command of Absalom this has been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.
In the above-mentioned words, Jonadab is telling King David that let not my lord suppose they have killed all the young men, the king’s sons, for only Amnon is dead. For by the command of Absalom this has been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.
My dear people, due to the evil thoughts that came unto Ammon in the flesh, there is a conflict that came in the mind of Ammon. Due to that conflict of the mind, Tamar who was forced upon in her spiritual life and in her life she becomes desolate. Therefore we see that there a soul is being killed. From this what we come to know is that if we will be under the bondage of the thoughts of the flesh, our mind will be destroyed, and our soul is being killed. Also, if we will not confess the sin that we have done to the Lord then God is not the one who will forget our sin from his mind. It is sure that according to the deeds that we have done he will answer us. Therefore, my dear people in the Lord from wherever we left the Lord and did the things of the flesh, those things we must confess to the Lord and submit ourselves.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
