“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Proverbs 11: 19
As righteousness leads to life, so he who pursues evil pursues it to his own death.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church should not give place to any evil thoughts, and we must separate our mind and safeguard ourselves.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church we should not do what our flesh and mind desires but should be as those who do the will of God.
Next what we are meditating upon is that
2 Samuel 13: 16 – 22
So she said to him, “No, indeed! This evil of sending me away is worse than the other that you did to me.” But he would not listen to her.
Then he called his servant who attended him, and said, “Here! Put this woman out, away from me, and bolt the door behind her.”
Now she had on a robe of many colours, for the king’s virgin daughters wore such apparel. And his servant put her out and bolted the door behind her.
Then Tamar put ashes on her head and tore her robe of many colours that was on her, and laid her hand on her head and went away crying bitterly.
And Absalom her brother said to her, “Has Amnon your brother been with you? But now hold your peace, my sister. He is your brother; do not take this thing to heart.” So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom’s house.
But when King David heard of all these things, he was very angry.
And Absalom spoke to his brother Amnon neither good nor bad. For Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar.
When we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses, Ammon hated Tamar exceedingly so that the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her. And Amnon said to her, “Arise, be gone!” So she said to him, “No, indeed! This evil of sending me away is worse than the other that you did to me.” But he would not listen to her. Then he called his servant who attended him, and said, “Here! Put this woman out, away from me, and bolt the door behind her.” Now she had on a robe of many colours, for the king’s virgin daughters wore such apparel. And his servant put her out and bolted the door behind her. Then Tamar put ashes on her head, and tore her robe of many colors that was on her, and laid her hand on her head and went away crying bitterly.
My dear people, after God establishes the throne of Christ in our soul then its foundation is righteousness and justice. But because the mind of Ammon son of David, the king of Israel and Judah was infatuated by Tamar the son and daughter are falling into a big sin. What God is showing in this as a pattern is that if our mind does not do what our flesh desires the holiness of our inner man will be safeguarded. But if like Ammon we will force and deceive the mind and make to fall in lust, then the devil will make us unclean, and it will result in us losing our holiness. Also, if we will stain our mind with the thoughts of the flesh, then that mind will always be under the bondage of the deeds of the flesh. This is what happened in the lives of Ammon and Tamar. That is, even after Ammon hated and chased her away she did not have the mind to go and he is using his servant to chase Tamar away. The evil thought that came in that mind should not come in all our minds and we must safeguard ourselves. We must not give place for any one lust in our soul. If we will give place for evil lusts in our soul in this manner we will be removed from the place of the King’s daughter and our life will be made alone and in our life we have to be desolate. The Lord will forsake us. Therefore, we must not give place for any pleasures of the world, and we must safeguard our soul. Therefore, let us submit ourselves so that our soul is safeguarded always in holiness.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
