“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

Galatians 4: 6, 7

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”

Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen

We, the bride, the church should not do what our flesh and mind desires but should be as those who do the will of God.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that within our soul, the bride, the church we should receive the image of Christ for new life and live.

Next what we are meditating upon is that

2 Samuel 13: 1 - 15

After this Absalom the son of David had a lovely sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.

Amnon was so distressed over his sister Tamar that he became sick; for she was a virgin. And it was improper for Amnon to do anything to her.

But Amnon had a friend whose name was Jonadab the son of Shimeah, David’s brother. Now Jonadab was a very crafty man.

And he said to him, “Why are you, the king’s son, becoming thinner day after day? Will you not tell me?” Amnon said to him, “I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.”

So Jonadab said to him, “Lie down on your bed and pretend to be ill. And when your father comes to see you, say to him, ‘Please let my sister Tamar come and give me food, and prepare the food in my sight, that I may see it and eat it from her hand.’”

Then Amnon lay down and pretended to be ill; and when the king came to see him, Amnon said to the king, “Please let Tamar my sister come and make a couple of cakes for me in my sight, that I may eat from her hand.”

And David sent home to Tamar, saying, “Now go to your brother Amnon’s house, and prepare food for him.”

So Tamar went to her brother Amnon’s house; and he was lying down. Then she took flour and kneaded it, made cakes in his sight, and baked the cakes.

And she took the pan and placed them out before him, but he refused to eat. Then Amnon said, “Have everyone go out from me.” And they all went out from him.

Then Amnon said to Tamar, “Bring the food into the bedroom, that I may eat from your hand.” And Tamar took the cakes which she had made and brought them to Amnon her brother in the bedroom.

Now when she had brought them to him to eat, he took hold of her and said to her, “Come, lie with me, my sister.”

But she answered him, “No, my brother, do not force me, for no such thing should be done in Israel. Do not do this disgraceful thing!

And I, where could I take my shame? And as for you, you would be like one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, please speak to the king; for he will not withhold me from you.”

However, he would not heed her voice; and being stronger than she, he forced her and lay with her.

Then Amnon hated her exceedingly, so that the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her. And Amnon said to her, “Arise, be gone!”

According to the above-mentioned verses, after a son Solomon was born to David through his wife Bathsheba, Absalom the son of David had a lovely sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her. Will you not tell me?” Amnon said to him, “I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.” So Jonadab said to him, “Lie down on your bed and pretend to be ill. And when your father comes to see you, say to him, ‘Please let my sister Tamar come and give me food, and prepare the food in my sight, that I may see it and eat it from her hand.’” Then Amnon lay down and pretended to be ill; and when the king came to see him, Amnon said to the king, “Please let Tamar my sister come and make a couple of cakes for me in my sight, that I may eat from her hand.” And David sent home to Tamar, saying, “Now go to your brother Amnon’s house, and prepare food for him.” So Tamar went to her brother Amnon’s house; and he was lying down. Now when she had brought them to him to eat, he took hold of her and said to her, “Come, lie with me, my sister.” But she answered him, “No, my brother, do not force me, for no such thing should be done in Israel. Do not do this disgraceful thing! And I, where could I take my shame? And as for you, you would be like one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, please speak to the king; for he will not withhold me from you.” However, he would not heed her voice; and being stronger than she, he forced her and lay with her. Then Amnon hated her exceedingly, so that the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her. And Amnon said to her, “Arise, be gone!”

My dear people, when we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses, we must know that no infatuation should come within us. Not only that but one family means the body of Christ, which is the church, and we must know that and always with fear, reverence we must serve the Lord. Also, within one family, the church whether those who come or those who are there permanently we must have the realization that for all there is one Father. There are all brothers and sisters. Here when we see Ammon was infatuated. But Jonadab, who was his friend is leading him in the wrong path. Therefore in the life of Ammon the sin was increased. If we keep such kind of people who give evil guidance as our friends, then we will also be stuck and fall in sin and then later this will become bad for our soul and will end as a danger to our soul. Therefore, my loving people in Christ we must never desire to be with evil friends. Our close friend, who is Christ died on Calvary for our sinful infatuation and lusts and the Christ who rose again on the third day lives in us today also. Therefore, the one who overcomes the Satan who comes in our soul is Christ. In any matter he is our brother, friend and all in all. Therefore, any thing whether good or evil we must tell him. Then he will give us his guidance. That guidance will never cause us to reach evil but will enable us to find goodness.

Regarding this in,

Psalms 32: 8

will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

The above-mentioned verse shows us the good path. Also, what God is showing us as a pattern is that

Ephesians 2: 1 – 5

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,

in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,

among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

If we accept the above-mentioned words of God, we will not do what our flesh and mind desires, but we will do what God desires and we will be revived with him and rise up in him and we will be seated with him in the high places. In this manner we will be blessed in the Lord. Therefore, due to the fleshly deeds of Ammon our mind, which is Tamar is being defiled. Both are the parts of the same body. Therefore in such of things brother, we are not debtors to the flesh to live according to the flesh.

Therefore,

Romans 8: 13, 14

For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

According to the above-mentioned verses let us submit ourselves to become the sons of God.

Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
