“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
1 Thessalonians 4: 4 - 6
That each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,
not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God;
that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church should not fall in the lusts of the flesh and safeguard our spiritual life carefully
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should be as those worship the Lord every day. We must not fall in any enjoyments of the world and carefully we must keep ourselves holy.
Also what we are meditating upon is that 2 Samuel 11: 13, 14 Now when David called him, he ate and drank before him; and he made him drunk. And at evening he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but he did not go down to his house.
In the morning it happened that David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it by the hand of Uriah.
In the above-mentioned words, just like how David told Uriah he remained in Jerusalem that day and the next. Now when David called him, he ate and drank before him; and he made him drunk. And at evening he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but he did not go down to his house. In the morning it happened that David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it by the hand of Uriah.
That letter in 2 Samuel 11: 15 And he wrote in the letter, saying, “Set Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retreat from him, that he may be struck down and die.”
As written in the above-mentioned letter while Joab besieged the city, that he assigned Uriah to a place where he knew there were valiant men. Then the men of the city came out and fought with Joab. And some of the people of the servants of David fell; and Uriah the Hittite died also. Then Joab sent and told David all the things concerning the war, and charged the messenger, saying,
2 Samuel 11: 19 – 21 and charged the messenger, saying, “When you have finished telling the matters of the war to the king,
if it happens that the king’s wrath rises, and he says to you: ‘Why did you approach so near to the city when you fought? Did you not know that they would shoot from the wall?
Who struck Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? Was it not a woman who cast a piece of a millstone on him from the wall, so that he died in Thebez? Why did you go near the wall?’—then you shall say, ‘Your servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.’”
The above-mentioned words were said and sent to David and the messenger said to David, “Surely the men prevailed against us and came out to us in the field; then we drove them back as far as the entrance of the gate. The archers shot from the wall at your servants; and some of the king’s servants are dead, and your servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.” Then David said to the messenger, “Thus you shall say to Joab: ‘Do not let this thing displease you, for the sword devours one as well as another. Strengthen your attack against the city and overthrow it.’ So encourage him.” When the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she mourned for her husband. And when her mourning was over, David sent and brought her to his house, and she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the Lord.
My dear people, when we meditate upon the above-mentioned words if a soul falls in the pit of sin, which is the hell, the world, he will not know where he is, and the Lord will close his spiritual eyes and open his eyes of flesh. Due to that reason he walks in the wrong path again and again without any fear of the Lord. We must know that this is one judgement of the Lord. If we get stuck in this manner, then sin will overcome us, and our soul will be dead. Later if we want to be redeemed from this we must listen to the voice of the Lord and with a broken soul only if we ask God for forgiveness, then the Lord according to the deeds of our mind maybe he can forgive us sometimes. This is what God is showing us as a pattern using David. Also, for our spiritual life there is a test, and we must know this. Therefore when we must be very careful in worshipping the Lord. Also, there should not be any life of guile in us. If we are in this manner, then we are doing evil in the sight of the Lord. Not only that but our soul will be as the child of the foreign harlot woman. Therefore, we must change our soul in the image of God and in that every day we must offer worship to God as a sacrifice and safeguard ourselves so that we do not lose eternal life and so that we do not do evil in the sight of the Lord and to safeguard holiness let us submit ourselves.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
