“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

Psalms 69: 18

Draw near to my soul and redeem it; Deliver me because of my enemies.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen

We, the bride, the church should safeguard the shield of salvation given by the Lord carefully so that it is not being disrespected by the enemies.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should not rejoice when evil comes upon others.

Next what we are meditating upon is that 2 Samuel 1: 18 – 27 and he told them to teach the children of Judah the Song of the Bow; indeed it is written in the Book of Jasher:

“The beauty of Israel is slain on your high places! How the mighty have fallen!

Tell it not in Gath, Proclaim it not in the streets of Ashkelon— Lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, Lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.

“O mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew nor rain upon you, nor fields of offerings. For the shield of the mighty is cast away there! The shield of Saul, not anointed with oil.

From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan did not turn back, and the sword of Saul did not return empty.

“Saul and Jonathan were beloved and pleasant in their lives, and in their death, they were not divided; They were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions.

 “O daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, with luxury; who put ornaments of gold on your apparel.

“How the mighty have fallen in the midst of the battle! Jonathan was slain in your high places.

I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan; you have been very pleasant to me; your love to me was wonderful, surpassing the love of women.

“How the mighty have fallen, and the weapons of war perished!”

The facts regarding the above-mentioned verses is that David is singing lamentations over Saul and Jonathan, his son. And he told them to teach the children of Judah the Song of the Bow; and the song that he lamented and sang is that the beauty, which was due to grace the decoration of salvation that was there with the Israelites

Was destroyed in the high mountain, the Mount Gilboa and

The King of Israel who had received anointing

His son, the mighty fell down and

On hearing this the daughters of the Philistines did not rejoice

And the daughters of the uncircumcised did not triumph

Tell it not in Gath

Proclaim it not in the streets of Ashkelon

“O mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew nor rain upon you,

Nor fields of offerings.

For the shield of the mighty is cast away there!

The shield of Saul, not anointed with oil.

From the blood of the slain, From the fat of the mighty,

The bow of Jonathan did not turn back,

And the sword of Saul did not return empty.

“Saul and Jonathan were beloved and pleasant in their lives,

And in their death they were not divided;

They were swifter than eagles, They were stronger than lions.

“O daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, with luxury;

Who put ornaments of gold on your apparel.

“How the mighty have fallen in the midst of the battle! Jonathan was slain in your high places.

I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan;

You have been very pleasant to me; Your love to me was wonderful,

Surpassing the love of women.

“How the mighty have fallen,

And the weapons of war perished!”

My dear people, this song was sung by David while he was lamenting the death of Saul and the death of his friend Jonathan. God is showing this as a pattern. That is, we are being anointed by God and we who rejoiced in the top of Zion are being affected by the deeds of the wicked Gentiles and then we are being pushed down by them and when we break and fall down, we lose our life. Our mightiness is being completely removed from us. The shield of anointing that God gave us for the war is being cast away. The reason for this are the wicked deeds that are within us and due to this the name of the Lord is being disrespected and God is showing this as a pattern through Saul.

Therefore, my dear people due to the evil that we are doing to the Lord, God is seeing us and is being pained. Also, due to this God is anointing our Lord Jesus within us and is making him get victory on the cross. Therefore those who believe him truthfully will attain victory in all kinds of tribulations of the enemy and will possess the reward of this which is eternal life. In this manner, let us submit ourselves completely to Christ as those with faith.

Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
