“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Leviticus 20: 6
‘And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church should never for any reason like Saul give place in our soul to listen to mediums and see familiar spirits.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that if we, the bride, the church wants to overcome the enemies, we should be as those who have received the grace of Christ.
Next what we are meditating upon is that 1 Samuel 28: 1 – 11 Now it happened in those days that the Philistines gathered their armies together for war, to fight with Israel. And Achish said to David, “You assuredly know that you will go out with me to battle, you and your men.”
So David said to Achish, “Surely you know what your servant can do.” And Achish said to David, “Therefore I will make you one of my chief guardians forever.”
Now Samuel had died, and all Israel had lamented for him and buried him in Ramah, in his own city. And Saul had put the mediums and the spiritists out of the land.
Then the Philistines gathered together and came and encamped at Shunem. So Saul gathered all Israel together, and they encamped at Gilboa.
When Saul saw the army of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart trembled greatly.
And when Saul inquired of the Lord, the Lord did not answer him, either by dreams or by Urim or by the prophets.
Then Saul said to his servants, “Find me a woman who is a medium, that I may go to her and inquire of her.” And his servants said to him, “In fact, there is a woman who is a medium at En Dor.”
So Saul disguised himself and put on other clothes, and he went, and two men with him; and they came to the woman by night. And he said, “Please conduct a séance for me, and bring up for me the one I shall name to you.”
Then the woman said to him, “Look, you know what Saul has done, how he has cut off the mediums and the spiritists from the land. Why then do you lay a snare for my life, to cause me to die?”
And Saul swore to her by the Lord, saying, “As the Lord lives, no punishment shall come upon you for this thing.”
Then the woman said, “Whom shall I bring up for you?” And he said, “Bring up Samuel for me.”
When we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses, the Philistines gathered their armies together for war, to fight with Israel. And Achish said to David, “You assuredly know that you will go out with me to battle, you and your men.” So David said to Achish, “Surely you know what your servant can do.” And Achish said to David, “Therefore I will make you one of my chief guardians forever.” Now Samuel had died, and all Israel had lamented for him and buried him in Ramah, in his own city. But in 1 Samuel 28: 12 When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out with a loud voice. And the woman spoke to Saul, saying, “Why have you deceived me? For you are Saul!”
In the above-mentioned verses, when Samuel came the woman saw Samuel, she cried out with a loud voice. And the woman spoke to Saul, saying, “Why have you deceived me? For you are Saul!” So the king told her in 1 Samuel 28: 13, 14 And the king said to her, “Do not be afraid. What did you see?” And the woman said to Saul, “I saw a spirit ascending out of the earth.”
So he said to her, “What is his form?” And she said, “An old man is coming up, and he is covered with a mantle.” And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground and bowed down.

My dear people, Philistines means those who are uncircumcised. If Israel is truthful, they do not need to be afraid of the Philistines in any way. But Saul is becoming greatly afraid when he saw the Philistines gathered together and encamped. The reason for this is that David is not there to win the war. He is in the city of Gath with Achish since he went there due to fear of Saul. But he without the knowledge of Achish, raided the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites. But he is calling David to fight against the Israelites. When Saul enquired of the Lord because he did not give any answer, he is searching for a woman who is a medium. That is, according to the law of the Lord within Israel there should be no such kind of evil deeds of mediums and familiar spirits. Therefore, Saul had cut of such kind of people from the land. Therefore he is enquiring and disguised himself and went to the woman who was a medium and to enquire of the Lord and is telling her to bring up Samuel and from out of the earth Samuel comes covered with a mantle. In this manner, when God does not answer many people they break the law of the Lord and give place in their soul to wrong evil teaching and in their lives they do evil. The thing being shown here as a pattern is that when the deeds of the Philistines deceive our soul with many worldly lusts the harlot woman will work in us. But many people are not able to overcome this and because they are falling down God is leaving them and going away. Because the Lord is going away in this manner they do not know what they must do and they go to mediums and familiar spirits and lose the grace of the Lord. Like Saul, they are not able to receive the graces of the Lord again and their soul falls into the rooms of hell and death. But we must not do in this manner but submit ourselves to change and live hoping only in the Lord.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
