“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

Psalms 119: 132

Look upon me and be merciful to me, as Your custom is toward those who love Your name.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen

We, the bride, the church should not do any evil to others and we should keep cleansing our heart.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that even if we, the bride, the church are oppressed on all sides, we should not be weary.

Next what we are meditating upon is that 1 Samuel 24: 1 - 3 Now it happened, when Saul had returned from following the Philistines, that it was told him, saying, “Take note! David is in the Wilderness of En Gedi.”

Then Saul took three thousand chosen men from all Israel and went to seek David and his men on the Rocks of the Wild Goats.

So he came to the sheepfolds by the road, where there was a cave; and Saul went in to attend to his needs. (David and his men were staying in the recesses of the cave.)

What is written in the above-mentioned verses is that because Saul followed the Philistines, David escaped from the hands of Saul and dwelt in strongholds at En Gedi. Now it happened, when Saul had returned from following the Philistines, that it was told him, saying, “Take note! David is in the Wilderness of En Gedi.” Then Saul took three thousand chosen men from all Israel and went to seek David and his men on the Rocks of the Wild Goats. So he came to the sheepfolds by the road, where there was a cave; and Saul went in to attend to his needs. (David and his men were staying in the recesses of the cave.)

Then the men of David told David in 1 Samuel 24: 4 Then the men of David said to him, “This is the day of which the Lord said to you, ‘Behold, I will deliver your enemy into your hand, that you may do to him as it seems good to you.’” And David arose and secretly cut off a corner of Saul’s robe.

After telling the above-mentioned words, David arose and secretly cut off a corner of Saul’s robe. Now it happened afterward that David’s heart troubled him because he had cut Saul’s robe. And he said to his men, “The Lord forbid that I should do this thing to my master, the Lord’s anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the Lord.” So David restrained his servants with these words, and did not allow them to rise against Saul. And Saul got up from the cave and went on his way.

David also arose afterward, went out of the cave, and called out to Saul, saying, “My lord the king!” And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed down. And David said to Saul: “Why do you listen to the words of men who say, ‘Indeed David seeks your harm’? Look, this day your eyes have seen that the Lord delivered you today into my hand in the cave, and someone urged me to kill you. But my eye spared you, and I said, ‘I will not stretch out my hand against my lord, for he is the Lord’s anointed.’

Then David told Saul in 1 Samuel 24: 11 – 13 Moreover, my father, see! Yes, see the corner of your robe in my hand! For in that I cut off the corner of your robe, and did not kill you, know and see that there is neither evil nor rebellion in my hand, and I have not sinned against you. Yet you hunt my life to take it.

Let the Lord judge between you and me, and let the Lord avenge me on you. But my hand shall not be against you.

As the proverb of the ancients says, ‘Wickedness proceeds from the wicked.’ But my hand shall not be against you.

What is said in the above-mentioned verses is that God submitted Saul in the hands of David and as a proof regarding that David is showing Saul that he cut the corner of his robe. Also, though David could he did not do evil unto Saul and did not do any rebellion. But Saul is searching to hunt for the life of David. Also, David in the matter regarding Saul he is taking a decision that let the Lord judge between you and me, and let the Lord avenge me on you. But my hand shall not be against you.

Therefore, my dear people, those who are reading this let each one of us analyse ourselves. That is, whether the heart within us is Saul’s heart? Or the heart of David? Both were anointed by the Lord. But Saul wanted to somehow hunt the life of David and that was his thought. Those with such kind of thought will target others, those whom they do not like and to hunt their life with their tongue (sharpened razor like a knife) will speak things that are lies about the humble and walk around. If they do not do in this manner, they will not have peace like Saul. Saul always followed David to catch him and the only thought was that he wanted to destroy him. But David never came forward to do any evil against Saul. Even though the chance came nearby he said that I will not put my hand upon those who have been anointed by God and by his words he did not allow his people also to go against him and stopped them. Also, he is taking a decision that he will also put his hand against him.

In this manner, let those who are saved by the Lord submit themselves to purify their hearts.

Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
