“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

Psalms 119: 130

The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen

In us, the bride, the church deeds of Edomites should not arise and we must sanctify ourselves.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should not have wrong thoughts regarding anyone, and we must safeguard our soul.

Next what we are meditating upon is that 1 Samuel 22: 9 - 13 Then answered Doeg the Edomite, who was set over the servants of Saul, and said, “I saw the son of Jesse going to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.

And he inquired of the Lord for him, gave him provisions, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.”

So the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father’s house, the priests who were in Nob. And they all came to the king.

And Saul said, “Hear now, son of Ahitub!” He answered, “Here I am, my lord.”

Then Saul said to him, “Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread and a sword, and have inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as it is this day?”

The facts regarding the above-mentioned verses are that Saul, who came to know that Jonathan and David made a covenant and when he was enquiring regarding that to his servants, then answered Doeg the Edomite, who was set over the servants of Saul, and said, “I saw the son of Jesse going to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub. And he inquired of the Lord for him, gave him provisions, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.” So the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father’s house, the priests who were in Nob. And they all came to the king. And Saul said, “Hear now, son of Ahitub!” He answered, “Here I am, my lord.” Then Saul said to him, “Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread and a sword, and have inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as it is this day?”

Then Ahimelech answered the king in 1 Samuel 22: 14, 15 So Ahimelech answered the king and said, “And who among all your servants is as faithful as David, who is the king’s son-in-law, who goes at your bidding, and is honorable in your house?

Did I then begin to inquire of God for him? Far be it from me! Let not the king impute anything to his servant, or to any in the house of my father. For your servant knew nothing of all this, little or much.”

After saying the above-mentioned words to Ahimelech, what the king said is that “You shall surely die, Ahimelech, you and all your father’s house!” Then the king said to the guards who stood about him, “Turn and kill the priests of the Lord, because their hand also is with David, and because they knew when he fled and did not tell it to me.” But the servants of the king would not lift their hands to strike the priests of the Lord. And the king said to Doeg, “You turn and kill the priests!” So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck the priests and killed on that day eighty-five men who wore a linen ephod. Also Nob, the city of the priests, he struck with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and nursing infants, oxen and donkeys and sheep—with the edge of the sword. Now one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled after David. And Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the Lord’s priests. Then David said in 1 Samuel 22: 22, 23 So David said to Abiathar, “I knew that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I have caused the death of all the persons of your father’s house.

Stay with me; do not fear. For he who seeks my life seeks your life, but with me you shall be safe.”

David said the above-mentioned words and is telling Abiathar to stay there with him under his safety.

My dear people, when we look at these portions the heart of Saul who had the distressing spirit never changed. This is because God is the one who sent the distressing spirit into him in his anger and he sent it because he had jealousy. Therefore, he was extremely revengeful against David who had the Spirit of the Lord. Such kind of revenge should not arise in our soul and we must be careful regarding this. Also, he is planning to kill those who were of help to David. That is, when Saul heard that the priest Ahimelech was helpful to David, with anger he is giving permission to kill all those who were priests. When we commanded that those priests were to be killed, the servants of the king did not agree to kill them and did not lift their hands.

My dear people, what we must know is that many among us are also like this presumptuous. The priests are those who have received the anointing of priesthood from the Lord. Without knowing that, due to their wickedness not by weapons but by the sharpened razor knives in them by their words they are killing those who have received such an anointing. But they are not thinking regarding what is going to happen in the coming days and are talking. Regarding them the word of God in Psalms 52: 2 – 5 Your tongue devises destruction, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

You love evil more than good, lying rather than speaking righteousness. Selah

You love all devouring words, you deceitful tongue.

God shall likewise destroy you forever; He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place, and uproot you from the land of the living. Selah

Read the above-mentioned words carefully and be cautious. But when he told Doeg, the Edomite to kill the priests he is killing them. Therefore such kind of people are Edomites, and we can understand this and we must safeguard ourselves so that violent character does not come in us. It is written how each one of us should be in Psalms 52: 8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.

But like Doeg, many people are there in the church of God. Therefore whatever spiritual thing we may do we must be very careful. If we give place for distressing spirit within Israel, in the churches Doeg’s will arise. They will see how to destroy the church of God. Therefore, in our soul also due to the reason of the distressing spirit so that Doeg’s do not arise we must safeguard our soul and let us submit ourselves to live for God.

Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
