“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Psalms 9: 9
The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
If we, the bride, the church do the will of the Lord, then God will make a way for us to escape from the hands of the enemies.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should wait for God to bring righteousness in us.
Next what we are meditating upon is that 1 Samuel 20: 14 - 23 And you shall not only show me the kindness of the Lord while I still live, that I may not die;
but you shall not cut off your kindness from my house forever, no, not when the Lord has cut off every one of the enemies of David from the face of the earth.”
So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, “Let the Lord require it at the hand of David’s enemies.”
Now Jonathan again caused David to vow, because he loved him; for he loved him as he loved his own soul.
Then Jonathan said to David, “Tomorrow is the New Moon; and you will be missed, because your seat will be empty.
And when you have stayed three days, go down quickly and come to the place where you hid on the day of the deed; and remain by the stone Ezel.
Then I will shoot three arrows to the side, as though I shot at a target;
and there I will send a lad, saying, ‘Go, find the arrows.’ If I expressly say to the lad, ‘Look, the arrows are on this side of you; get them and come’—then, as the Lord lives, there is safety for you and no harm.
But if I say thus to the young man, ‘Look, the arrows are beyond you’—go your way, for the Lord has sent you away.
And as for the matter which you and I have spoken of, indeed the Lord be between you and me forever.”
When we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses, when David feared Saul, the son of Saul Jonathan whom David loved like his own soul gave David comforting words and when he sent him with peace Jonathan is telling that And you shall not only show me the kindness of the Lord while I still live, that I may not die; but you shall not cut off your kindness from my house forever, no, not when the Lord has cut off every one of the enemies of David from the face of the earth.” So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, “Let the Lord require it at the hand of David’s enemies.” Now Jonathan again caused David to vow, because he loved him; for he loved him as he loved his own soul. Then Jonathan said to David, “Tomorrow is the New Moon; and you will be missed, because your seat will be empty. And when you have stayed three days, go down quickly and come to the place where you hid on the day of the deed; and remain by the stone Ezel. Then I will shoot three arrows to the side, as though I shot at a target; and there I will send a lad, saying, ‘Go, find the arrows.’ If I expressly say to the lad, ‘Look, the arrows are on this side of you; get them and come’—then, as the Lord lives, there is safety for you and no harm. But if I say thus to the young man, ‘Look, the arrows are beyond you’—go your way, for the Lord has sent you away.
That is, the three arrows are the verses of the Trinity God, and the lad is our soul that has been saved and God is showing that as a pattern and within our soul thoughts for us to escape will arise. Then the things that Jonathan told David are that as for the matter which you and I have spoken of, indeed the Lord be between you and me forever.
My dear people, when we are oppressed by the enemies in our soul peace will be less. To remove that decrease in peace our Lord Jesus Christ in our soul gave his life unto us and when worries oppress us within our soul, Christ will be one who gives us comfort and peace and such words are being given to us as a pattern. Not only that, but he is also making us escape through Christ and he is giving the signs for that. Also, if we do the will of the Lord, then from the hands of our enemies God is making us escape. In this manner, let us submit ourselves to receive from God a way to escape.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
