“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Romans 12: 21
Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church should be as those who do good for evil.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that in our soul, the bride, the church deeds of vengeance should not arise and we must safeguard ourselves as a soul without guile with holiness.
Next what we are meditating upon is that 1 Samuel 19: 1 - 4 Now Saul spoke to Jonathan his son and to all his servants, that they should kill David; but Jonathan, Saul’s son, delighted greatly in David.
So Jonathan told David, saying, “My father Saul seeks to kill you. Therefore please be on your guard until morning, and stay in a secret place and hide.
And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are, and I will speak with my father about you. Then what I observe, I will tell you.”
Thus Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father, and said to him, “Let not the king sin against his servant, against David, because he has not sinned against you, and because his works have been very good toward you.
In the above-mentioned words, due to envy Saul wanted to kill David and told his son and all his servants, that they should kill David; but Jonathan, Saul’s son, delighted greatly in David. So Jonathan told David, saying, “My father Saul seeks to kill you. Therefore please be on your guard until morning, and stay in a secret place and hide. And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are, and I will speak with my father about you. Then what I observe, I will tell you.” Thus Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father, and said to him, “Let not the king sin against his servant, against David, because he has not sinned against you, and because his works have been very good toward you.
Also, David for Saul did not consider his life also and helped him in 1 Samuel 19: 5 For he took his life in his hands and killed the Philistine, and the Lord brought about a great deliverance for all Israel. You saw it and rejoiced. Why then will you sin against innocent blood, to kill David without a cause?” So Saul heeded the voice of Jonathan, and Saul swore, “As the Lord lives, he shall not be killed.” Then Jonathan called David, and Jonathan told him all these things. So Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence as in times past. And there was war again; and David went out and fought with the Philistines, and struck them with a mighty blow, and they fled from him.
My dear people, when we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses when Saul thought of doing evil for David, we can read of the way how God prevented this. Also, whoever comes against us, if the Spirit of the Lord is within us he will somehow reveal it to us and we must understand that. Also, Saul thought of doing evil but David did not give importance to it and is doing good. That is, if there is anyone who is doing evil unto us we must not become weary in the job that God has given us without causing weariness we must be careful. To test us and see how we are truthful to the Lord we who have received goodness from the Lord, they may speak evil things about us and also do such deeds against us. But if we are filled with the Spirit of the Lord they will themselves be ashamed. But our soul will be united with Christ. In this manner, let us submit ourselves to the Lord.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
