My dearly
beloved in Christ, in the past days we meditated the word of God on how to
preserve our whole spirit, soul and body sanctified and blameless at the coming
of our Lord Jesus Christ under 8 headings. I trust in the Lord that it would
have been useful to everyone of you. It is the Lord’s will through Jesus Christ
that each and everyone of us should walk according to the verses mentioned
above. The next thing that we are going to see is –
9. Do
not quench the Spirit –
Isaiah 42: 1 –
8 says - “Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul
delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the
Gentiles.
He will not
cry out, nor raise His voice, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.
He will not
fail nor be discouraged, Till He has established justice in the earth; And the
coastlands shall wait for His law.”
Thus says God
the Lord, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the
earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, And
spirit to those who walk on it:
“I, the Lord,
have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand; I will keep You and
give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles,
To open blind
eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in darkness from
the prison house.
I am the Lord,
that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to
carved images.
When we
meditate on these verses, God has put His Spirit in his Son’s Spirit.
Therefore,
Jesus said in John 14: 1- 3 - “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in
God, believe also in Me.
In My Father’s
house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to
prepare a place for you.
And if I go
and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that
where I am, there you may be also.
John 14: 12 –
18 - “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do
he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My
Father.
And whatever
you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the
Son.
If you ask
anything in My name, I will do it.
“If you love
Me, keep My commandments.
And I will
pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with
you forever—
the Spirit of
truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows
Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
I will not
leave you orphans; I will come to you.
John 16: 8 –
11 says - And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of
righteousness, and of judgment:
of sin,
because they do not believe in Me;
of
righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;
of judgment,
because the ruler of this world is judged.
In this
manner, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ protects us daily by not allowing a
bruised reed to break, does not allow the smoking flax to quench and will bring
forth justice for truth.
John 17:24 –
26 says - “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me
where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You
loved Me before the foundation of the world.
O righteous
Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known
that You sent Me.
And I have
declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You
loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”
My dear
brothers and sisters, we must protect ourselves daily with the word of God.
Everyday we must be watchful in prayer, in holiness and meditation of God’s
word because within us our inner man’s countenance of the face will be merry.
That is why, in Proverbs 15:13 - A merry heart makes a cheerful
countenance, But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
Isaiah 63: 7 –
10 says - I will mention the loving kindnesses of the Lord And the praises of
the Lord, According to all that the Lord has bestowed on us, And the great
goodness toward the house of Israel, Which He has bestowed on them according to
His mercies, According to the multitude of His loving kindnesses.
For He said,
“Surely they are My people, Children who will not lie.” So He became their Savior.
In all their
affliction He was afflicted, And the Angel of His Presence saved them; In His
love and in His pity, He redeemed them; And He bore them and carried them All
the days of old.
But they
rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; So He turned Himself
against them as an enemy, And He fought against them.
My dearly
beloved who are reading and meditating this, We must think of how God has
delivered us from the hands of the enemy, separated us and saved us and make
sure carefully that we do not quench the Spirit.
If we rebel
against God, God himself will turn into our enemy. Therefore, my dearly beloved
in Christ, Whatever trials or tribulations may come against us, we must make
sure that we do not do deeds that grieve the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 4:
30 – 32 - And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for
the day of redemption.
Let all
bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with
all malice.
And be kind to
one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ
forgave you.
In this
manner, let us protect our lives in holiness daily. Let us pray. May the Lord
bless you all.
