“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Psalms 138: 8
The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church should safeguard ourselves so that our spiritual eyes are not lost.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that God is saving us, the bride, the church in every way.
Next what we are meditating upon is that 1 Samuel 11: 1, 2 Then Nahash the Ammonite came up and encamped against Jabesh Gilead; and all the men of Jabesh said to Nahash, “Make a covenant with us, and we will serve you.”
And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, “On this condition I will make a covenant with you, that I may put out all your right eyes, and bring reproach on all Israel.”
In the above-mentioned verses, after God had anointed Saul as the king of Israel, Nahash the Ammonite came up and encamped against Jabesh Gilead; and all the men of Jabesh said to Nahash, “Make a covenant with us, and we will serve you.” And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, “On this condition I will make a covenant with you, that I may put out all your right eyes, and bring reproach on all Israel.”
So, the elders of Jabesh in 1 Samuel 11: 3 – 5 Then the elders of Jabesh said to him, “Hold off for seven days, that we may send messengers to all the territory of Israel. And then, if there is no one to save us, we will come out to you.”
So the messengers came to Gibeah of Saul and told the news in the hearing of the people. And all the people lifted up their voices and wept.
Now there was Saul, coming behind the herd from the field; and Saul said, “What troubles the people, that they weep?” And they told him the words of the men of Jabesh.
The facts regarding the above-mentioned verses is that hold off for seven days, that we may send messengers to all the territory of Israel. And then, if there is no one to save us, we will come out to you. So the messengers came to Gibeah of Saul and told the news in the hearing of the people. And all the people lifted up their voices and wept. As soon as Saul heard this news, because the Spirit of God came upon him and his anger was greatly aroused and in 1 Samuel 11: 7 So he took a yoke of oxen and cut them in pieces and sent them throughout all the territory of Israel by the hands of messengers, saying, “Whoever does not go out with Saul and Samuel to battle, so it shall be done to his oxen.” And the fear of the Lord fell on the people, and they came out with one consent.
Because he heard the above-mentioned words and because the fear of the Lord fell on the people, they came out with one consent.
My dear people, in this manner what God is showing as a pattern is that if Ammonites work among the Israelites, he is plucking our spiritual eyes. So that we do not lose our spiritual eyes, we must together with one mind gather as a church and when we worship God then God will fight for Israel. Therefore, let us submit ourselves to safeguard ourselves so that our spiritual eyes is not lost.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
