“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Psalms 71: 3
Be my strong refuge, to which I may resort continually; You have given the commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
Hallelujah
God remembers us, the bride, the church and saves us.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that God remembers us, the bride, the church.
Next what we are meditating is that 1 Samuel 1: 20 - 22 So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the Lord.”
Now the man Elkanah and all his house went up to offer to the Lord the yearly sacrifice and his vow.
But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, “Not until the child is weaned; then I will take him, that he may appear before the Lord and remain there forever.”
When we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses, because Hannah searched God in the early morning, he remembered her. So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the Lord.” Now the man Elkanah and all his house went up to offer to the Lord the yearly sacrifice and his vow. But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, “Not until the child is weaned; then I will take him, that he may appear before the Lord and remain there forever.”
Then her husband in 1 Samuel 1: 23 So Elkanah her husband said to her, “Do what seems best to you; wait until you have weaned him. Only let the Lord establish His word.” Then the woman stayed and nursed her son until she had weaned him.
In this manner when she had weaned him, 1 Samuel 1: 24 Now when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bulls, one ephah of flour, and a skin of wine, and brought him to the house of the Lord in Shiloh. And the child was young.
In this manner, they took the sacrifice that they had to offer to the Lord. Then when the child was still young, they slaughtered a bull, and brought the child to Eli. And she said, “O my lord! As your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman who stood by you here, praying to the Lord. For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him. Therefore I also have lent him to the Lord; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the Lord.” So they worshiped the Lord there.
My dear people, if the Lord remembers us surely he will save us and there is no change in that. That is why God is showing us Hannah as a pattern. That is, our soul receives life and after it has been renewed then as it grows by drinking the teaching of the church of God, which is the pure milk of the word of Christ then everyday for our spiritual growth we must drink it. But from a particular age we are weaned from the mother’s milk, we must eat hard food. Only if we eat in this manner our soul will flourish. Also, the child, our soul which has been grown in this manner should seek to always stay with Christ our priest. To show this as a pattern only Hannah weaned the child Samuel and brought him to Eli, the priest in the house of the Lord and is leaving him there. The way Hannah is showing herself to Eli, the priest is that I am the woman who stood by you here, praying to the Lord. For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him.
In this manner, let us submit ourselves by telling regarding the way the Lord saves us and let us submit ourselves to live for the Lord all the days of our life.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
