“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Song of Solomon 7: 12
Let us get up early to the vineyards; Let us see if the vine has budded, Whether the grape blossoms are open, and the pomegranates are in bloom. There I will give you my love.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
Hallelujah
God remembers us, the bride, the church.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should humble ourselves and submit ourselves to the Lord and should possess salvation.
Next what we are meditating is that 1 Samuel 1: 12 – 19 And it happened, as she continued praying before the Lord, that Eli watched her mouth.
Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk.
So Eli said to her, “How long will you be drunk? Put your wine away from you!”
But Hannah answered and said, “No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord.
Do not consider your maidservant a wicked woman, for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief I have spoken until now.”
Then Eli answered and said, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.”
And she said, “Let your maidservant find favor in your sight.” So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.
Then they rose early in the morning and worshiped before the Lord, and returned and came to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the Lord remembered her.
When we look at the facts regarding the above-mentioned verses, when Hannah was praying in the presence of the Lord for a long time, Eli is watching her mouth. Her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought that she is drunk and said to her “How long will you be drunk? Put your wine away from you!” But Hannah answered and said, “No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink but have poured out my soul before the Lord. Do not consider your maidservant a wicked woman, for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief I have spoken until now.” Then Eli answered and said, “Go in peace. So Hannah when he heard the reply of the priest, she went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad. Then they rose early in the morning and worshiped before the Lord and returned and came to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the Lord remembered her.
My dear people, he is showing Hannah as a pattern regarding how our soul should possess salvation along with pattern. When she did not have a child for many years and when she was provoked by her rival when she went to Shiloh to worship the Lord and when she looked to the Lord and prayed to him, she is pleading such that only her lips are moving. Then Eli is seeing that and when she says that she is drunk, she says that I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink but have poured out my soul before the Lord. From this what we come to know is that all the pain of her mind without anyone else knowing she is pouring it before the Lord. She is confessing the mistakes that were there in her life to the Lord. But for what Eli asked her, she is telling that Do not consider your maidservant a wicked woman, for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief I have spoken until now and Eli is telling her to go in peace.
Also, we also in this manner if we pour our soul to the Lord he will give us also peace. Then Hannah is eating and this is a pattern of the Christ’s holy supper. If we are partakers in his supper we will live also with him. If our soul lives in this manner, our sadness will go away. When our sadness goes away in this manner, we will worship God early in the morning. If we will search him early in the morning God will remember us. In this manner, let us submit ourselves to the Lord.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
