“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

Romans 8: 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen

Hallelujah

The spiritual growths of us, the bride, the church should not become stunted due to the deeds of the flesh and we must be careful regarding this.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that once our soul, the bride, the church after it has been delivered once should not be under the bondage of the flesh again and we must be careful.

Next, what we are meditating is that Judges 9: 1 – 6 Then Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem, to his mother’s brothers, and spoke with them and with all the family of the house of his mother’s father, saying,

“Please speak in the hearing of all the men of Shechem: ‘Which is better for you, that all seventy of the sons of Jerubbaal reign over you, or that one reign over you?’ Remember that I am your own flesh and bone.”

And his mother’s brothers spoke all these words concerning him in the hearing of all the men of Shechem; and their heart was inclined to follow Abimelech, for they said, “He is our brother.”

So they gave him seventy shekels of silver from the temple of Baal-Berith, with which Abimelech hired worthless and reckless men; and they followed him.

Then he went to his father’s house at Ophrah and killed his brothers, the seventy sons of Jerubbaal, on one stone. But Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, because he hid himself.

And all the men of Shechem gathered together, all of Beth Millo, and they went and made Abimelech king beside the terebinth tree at the pillar that was in Shechem.

When we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses, the son born to Gideon known as Jerubbaal’s concubine who was known as Abimelech went to Shechem, to his mother’s brothers, and spoke with them and with all the family of the house of his mother’s father, saying, “Please speak in the hearing of all the men of Shechem: ‘Which is better for you, that all seventy of the sons of Jerubbaal reign over you, or that one reign over you?’ Remember that I am your own flesh and bone.” And they spoke all these words in the hearing of all the men of Shechem; and their heart was inclined to follow Abimelech, for they said, “He is our brother.”

My dear people, when we meditate upon the words mentioned above because Gideon made an ephod from the earrings and ornaments which the Israelites plundered from the Midianites, so the Israelites followed them and went into harlotry. That became a snare for Gideon and his household, and we had meditated regarding this yesterday and that is why God judged Gideon and his house. That is, because he was into the flesh, God made the fleshly generation that Gideon gave birth to kill the spiritual generation. But the son Jotham is escaping.

The explanation regarding this is that once we are saved and after the deeds of the flesh have been destroyed if we again do the deeds of the flesh then the spiritual beginnings that we have received which belong to Christ everything will be removed from us, and God is showing us this as a pattern. But he is not switching off the lamp which is burning mildly and to show this as a pattern Jotham is being safeguarded.

My dear people, let us submit ourselves so that our spiritual growths are not destroyed and let us safeguard our soul carefully.

Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
