“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Psalms 37: 40 And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
Hallelujah
The way how we, the bride, the church delivers and saves our soul from the hands of the enemy – as a pattern.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should not mix our soul with the deeds of the Gentiles and we must be careful.
But today what we are meditating is that Joshua 10: 1, 2 Now it came to pass when Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem heard how Joshua had taken Ai and had utterly destroyed it—as he had done to Jericho and its king, so he had done to Ai and its king—and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel and were among them,
that they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, like one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all its men were mighty.
When we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses when Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem heard how Joshua had taken Ai and had utterly destroyed it—as he had done to Jericho and its king, so he had done to Ai and its king—and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel and were among them, that they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, like one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all its men were mighty.
Then Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem what he did is that Joshua 10: 3, 4 Therefore Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem sent to Hoham king of Hebron, Piram king of Jarmuth, Japhia king of Lachish, and Debir king of Eglon, saying,
“Come up to me and help me, that we may attack Gibeon, for it has made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.”
In the above-mentioned verses, all the five kings that are written camped before Gibeon and made war against it. Then the men of Gibeon sent to Joshua at the camp at Gilgal, saying, “Do not forsake your servants; come up to us quickly, save us and help us, for all the kings of the Amorites who dwell in the mountains have gathered together against us.” So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he and all the people of war with him. And the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not fear them, for I have delivered them into your hand; not a man of them shall stand before you.” Joshua therefore came upon them suddenly, having marched all night from Gilgal.
Also, in Joshua 10: 10, 11 So the Lord routed them before Israel, killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, chased them along the road that goes to Beth Horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah.
And it happened, as they fled before Israel and were on the descent of Beth Horon, that the Lord cast down large hailstones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword.
When we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses, the Lord routed them before Israel and killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, chased them along the road that goes to Beth Horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah. While they were fleeing in this manner, that the Lord cast down large hailstones from heaven on them, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword.
My dear people, God is showing us as a pattern the fact regarding how quickly God is delivering and saving our soul from the hands of the enemy. How we are in fellowship with God, according to that he will deliver us and there is no doubt in that. The significance of this is that to make our inner man unholy such kind of kings, the giants will arise. We must be careful regarding them and just like how the people of Gibeon asked for Joshua’s help in the same way, we in our life of faith we must think that always God’s hand should be a deliverance for us and we must obey God and seek him. Then God will help us and deliver us. Our soul will escape from the hands of the enemy. That is why, God is showing us as a pattern that they were seeking Joshua.
Therefore, my dear people let us submit ourselves to Christ so that God will deliver us from the hands of all the Gentiles and save us.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
