“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Matthew 26: 19, 20 So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them; and they prepared the Passover.
When evening had come, He sat down with the twelve.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
Hallelujah
If we become the bride, the church we must eat the Passover only at twilight.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated how God is making us, the bride, the church into the bride, the church by showing us as a pattern regarding how when the children of Israel crossed Jordan, they took twelve stones from there and they were set up in Gilgal as the New Jerusalem where Christ is glorified in our soul and we meditated regarding this.
Next, what we are meditating is that Joshua 5: 1 – 15 So it was, when all the kings of the Amorites who were on the west side of the Jordan, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel until we had crossed over, that their heart melted; and there was no spirit in them any longer because of the children of Israel.
At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make flint knives for yourself, and circumcise the sons of Israel again the second time.”
So Joshua made flint knives for himself and circumcised the sons of Israel at the hill of the foreskins.
And this is the reason why Joshua circumcised them: All the people who came out of Egypt who were males, all the men of war, had died in the wilderness on the way, after they had come out of Egypt.
For all the people who came out had been circumcised, but all the people born in the wilderness, on the way as they came out of Egypt, had not been circumcised.
For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people who were men of war, who came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they did not obey the voice of the Lord—to whom the Lord swore that He would not show them the land which the Lord had sworn to their fathers that He would give us, “a land flowing with milk and honey.”
Then Joshua circumcised their sons whom He raised up in their place; for they were uncircumcised, because they had not been circumcised on the way.
So it was, when they had finished circumcising all the people, that they stayed in their places in the camp till they were healed.
Then the Lord said to Joshua, “This day I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” Therefore the name of the place is called Gilgal to this day.
Now the children of Israel camped in Gilgal and kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight on the plains of Jericho.
And they ate of the produce of the land on the day after the Passover, unleavened bread and parched grain, on the very same day.
Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year.
And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?”
So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?”
Then the Commander of the Lord’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so.
When we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses, when all the kings of the Amorites who were on the west side of the Jordan, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan using Joshua from before the children of Israel until they had crossed over, that their heart melted; and there was no spirit in them any longer because of the children of Israel.
At that time the Lord said to Joshua, make flint knives for yourself, and circumcise the sons of Israel again the second time. So he circumcised the sons of Israel at the hill of the foreskins. And this is the reason why Joshua circumcised them: All the people who came out of Egypt who were males, all the men of war, had died in the wilderness on the way. For all the people who came out from Egypt had been circumcised, but all the people born in the wilderness, on the way had not been circumcised.
My dear people, those who did not obey the voice of the Lord till they all were destroyed they walked around for forty years in the wilderness. If they walked around in this manner because they did not obey God did not give them rest and we are able to know that. Regarding that, Hebrews 3: 17 – 19 Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness?
And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey?
So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
The above-mentioned verses make these facts clear. That is because, Christ is telling in Matthew 11: 28 Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
When we meditate upon these facts to give us rest our Father God is sending our Lord Jesus Christ for us and that is sure. Therefore, if we obey his voice surely, we will get rest. Because of the reason that they did not obey according to what God had promised they did not see the land where milk and honey flows. But instead of them, their children were circumcised. Then they stayed in their places in the camp till they were healed. Then the Lord said to Joshua, this day I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you. What that signifies is that everyone was circumcised. Therefore the name of the place is called Gilgal to this day.
This circumcision is a pattern of flesh being removed from us. Regarding this, Philippians 3: 3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,
When we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses, our heart should receive circumcision and all the lusts of the flesh should be removed from us and when we worship God in the spirit our reproaches are being rolled away. That place is being called as Gilgal. That is the day when the Passover is being kept. This is because we, for our sins we die along with Christ and we resurrect along with Him in Spirit (Baptism by water) and then if we worship God by the spirit of Christ, then God from within all of us is rolling away the reproach.
Then on that day at twilight we must eat the flesh and blood of Christ according to how God has commanded us. That is the keeping of the Passover. Keeping of the Passover means the lamb of the Passover is our Lord Jesus Christ. He is being beaten for us and is made to shed blood and his flesh is being torn and, in this manner, he suffered for us and became a sacrifice. On that day, the Passover lamb is being beaten.
In this manner, we must believe this and for all our sin and infatuations our soul should be crucified with him on the cross and we must die for all our sins and then later we must rise up again with his Spirit. In this manner, we must submit ourselves before Christ as an offering. In this manner, God is showing us how to keep the Passover by using the Israelites as a pattern. After that they ate of the produce of the land. unleavened bread and parched grain.
The explanation of this God willing by grace we will meditate tomorrow. Let us all submit in this manner.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
