My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion that we meditated in the past few days the camels that Abraham’s servant brought signifies the people of the church. Rebekah, the wife that God prepared for Abraham’s son Isaac, who came to the well to take water signifies how God selects his servants to lead the church and when they pray God’s will is fulfilled. Abraham’ servant is shown as a sign  that God hears all the things that his servants pray for - for things of this world or heavenly things only God’s will is fulfilled in all matters and whatever God’s servants pray for God gives the answer. Just like how Abraham told his servant and sent him, Rebekah who belonged to Abraham’s land and Abraham’s family comes with the pitcher on her shoulder and God is showing the perfect wife for Isaac through the servant. The well that she comes to and draws water signifies the true church of Christ which God shows as a pattern. Rebekah drawing water from the well and giving the camels to drink shows that if Holy Spirit dwells in the church it signifies the church which is the bride. When Abraham’s servant asked for water, it signifies God’s servants drawing water from Christ and the spring of water which is the Holy Spirit and drinking the living word. Giving water to the camels signifies all the people of the church should be filled with the Holy Spirit and accept God’s word. God uses Rebekah and Abraham’s servant to signify all these things.

When the camels had finished drinking, we see that Abraham’s servant took a golden nose ring weighing half a shekel, and two bracelets for her wrists weighing ten shekels of gold and gave it to her.

Those who are reading this must think about it. Many people of this world when they meditate on verses like this, they wear the perishable things of this world like gold, silver and things like this in their lives. What they are thinking is a very wrong thing. We must pray that God should give us the wisdom and sound mind to think what God has shown as a pattern and made clear to us.

Nothing which is perishable can possess that which is unperishable. If we must possess the unperishable eternal life we must move away from the vain worldly things and remove them completely from us.

When the camels had finished drinking, we see that Abraham’s servant took a golden nose ring weighing half a shekel, and two bracelets for her wrists weighing ten shekels of gold and gave it to her.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, it is written when the camels finished drinking. This signifies that when we are filled with the Holy Spirit and when we accept the living words God is making us into the bride – the church. Then God decorates us with grace and truth. When we filled with such glory of God, God blesses us as a glorious temple of God where God dwells. This is what is precious in God’s sight. By the decoration of  the  Holy Spirit who is the bride our body, soul and spirit will be decorated. In this way, when our inner man (New man) is decorated, outward worldly decorations will go away from our lives. Only then can we worship God in the beauty of holiness.

That is why in Proverbs 3: 13 – 18 Happy is the man who finds wisdom,

And the man who gains understanding;

For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And her gain than fine gold.

She is more precious than rubies, and all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.

Length of days is in her right hand, In her left-hand riches and honor.

Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who retain her.

We must long to receive this in our lives.

Wisdom signifies Christ. From wisdom understanding is manifested. That is the Holy Spirit who is the bride.

That is why we must find wisdom. We must gain understanding.

When the bridegroom who is Christ and the bride who is the Holy Spirit works within our soul, we receive the knowledge of God and we will receive God’s words and walk in a holy manner.

That is why, in John 3: 29 He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore, this joy of mine is fulfilled.

In this manner, John says about Jesus Christ and his bride who is the Holy Spirit. If we will be his friend and listen to his voice truly our joy will be fulfilled now itself. God gives us the fullness of joy.

Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all.
