“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Psalms 4: 8
I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church will always be safeguarded by the Lord.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church are changed by God as an eternal house.
Next what we are meditating upon is that
2 Samuel 8: 1 - 8
After this it came to pass that David attacked the Philistines and subdued them. And David took Metheg Ammah from the hand of the Philistines.
Then he defeated Moab. Forcing them down to the ground, he measured them off with a line. With two lines he measured off those to be put to death, and with one full line those to be kept alive. So the Moabites became David’s servants and brought tribute.
David also defeated Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his territory at the River Euphrates.
David took from him one thousand chariots, seven hundred horsemen, and twenty-thousand-foot soldiers. Also David hamstrung all the chariot horses, except that he spared enough of them for one hundred chariots.
When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David killed twenty-two thousand of the Syrians.
Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became David’s servants and brought tribute. So the Lord preserved David wherever he went.
And David took the shields of gold that had belonged to the servants of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.
Also from Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took a large amount of bronze.
When we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses, what is said as the house of David is manifested as a pattern of the eternal house. This is because it is a house that stands forever in front of the Lord as a house that is before the Lord forever as a blessed house and the glory of the Lord manifested in it. This is a pattern of the church, the body of Christ. Also, when we see David is calling Jesus as the Lord. In this manner, David is possessing the blessing from God. After this all the places that David went, we read in the verses that the Lord is protecting him. That is, after this it came to pass that David attacked the Philistines and subdued them. My dear people, when we meditate upon the above-mentioned verses when we obey the voice of the Lord and become as the eternal house he enables us to overcome completely from the tribulations of the enemy. Not only that, but God will also never allow the Philistines to overcome us. This is because God will always dwell within us. That is, the deeds of the Philistines which are the decorations of the world are destroyed and he subdues the thoughts of the flesh and God captures many important places in our soul and then the proud things that are within us he is showing as a pattern to Moabites. Also, the deeds of Moab if they are within our soul our spiritual fruits will be lost. Also, God is against those who are proud.
Regarding this,
Isaiah 15: 5 – 9
“My heart will cry out for Moab; His fugitives shall flee to Zoar, Like a three-year-old heifer. For by the Ascent of Luhith they will go up with weeping; For in the way of Horonaim they will raise up a cry of destruction,
For the waters of Nimrim will be desolate, For the green grass has withered away; The grass fails, there is nothing green.
Therefore the abundance they have gained, and what they have laid up, they will carry away to the Brook of the Willows.
For the cry has gone all around the borders of Moab, its wailing to Eglaim and its wailing to Beer Elim.
For the waters of Dimon will be full of blood; because I will bring more upon Dimon, Lions upon him who escapes from Moab, and on the remnant of the land.”
From what is said in the above-mentioned verses, we must know that God is punishing us, and we must put away the pride which is there in our life. For this reason God is using David and showing us as a pattern. In this manner, he destroys the Syrians, which are deeds of the Gentiles and Christ manifests within us, and he cleanses our soul. In this manner, the Lord protects us in all the places. Not only that but the Lord makes us to walk according to his truth and enables the glory of his church to manifest upon us. In this manner, let us submit ourselves to always worship God in a manner pleasing to him.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
