“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Deuteronomy 33: 23
And of Naphtali he said: “O Naphtali, satisfied with favour, and full of the blessing of the Lord, possess the west and the south.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen
We, the bride, the church are the bondservants of only the Lord.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated upon in the past days, we meditated that we, the bride, the church should be strengthened in the power of the Lord’s might.
Next what we are meditating upon is that in the verse 1 Chronicles 7: 13 The sons of Naphtali the sons of Bilhah the names of four of them are given. Also, the son of Benjamin the descendants of Manasseh in 1 Chronicles 7: 14 – 19 The descendants of Manasseh: his Syrian concubine bore him Machir the father of Gilead, the father of Asriel.
Machir took as his wife the sister of Huppim and Shuppim, whose name was Maachah. The name of Gilead’s grandson was Zelophehad, but Zelophehad begot only daughters.
(Maachah the wife of Machir bore a son, and she called his name Peresh. The name of his brother was Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rakem.
The son of Ulam was Bedan.) These were the descendants of Gilead the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh.
His sister Hammoleketh bore Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.
And the sons of Shemida were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.
It is written till this. One of them is Asriel born to a concubine. His Syrian concubine bore him Machir the father of Gilead. In this manner, the sons of Manasseh are under the bondage of flesh, and we can understand this from the verses that are written.
My dear people, in the above-mentioned verses Naphtali is a deer let loose and he uses beautiful words and when our soul is being saved by Christ it will happen in this manner and this is being shown as a pattern. Also, in Joshua 13: 29 – 32 Moses also had given an inheritance to half the tribe of Manasseh; it was for half the tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families:
Their territory was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair which are in Bashan, sixty cities;
half of Gilead, and Ashtaroth and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, for half of the children of Machir according to their families.
These are the areas which Moses had distributed as an inheritance in the plains of Moab on the other side of the Jordan, by Jericho eastward.
In the above-mentioned verses, what is written is that for the generation of Manasseh, these are the areas which Moses had distributed as an inheritance in the plains of Moab on the other side of the Jordan, by Jericho eastward. The explanation regarding this is that the children given birth by concubines are under the bondage of flesh and things of the world and are those who are being deceived by the devil and this is being showed as a pattern. Therefore, we have only one Saviour and he is Christ. Therefore we must be redeemed by his blood and be as a bondservant for Christ and if we will be led by his Spirit we are being saved. In this manner, let us submit ourselves.
Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all abundantly.
