“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

John 6: 26, 27  Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.

Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Hallelujah

Christ partaking food with us - as a pattern - Explanation

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, in the portion of the Bible that we meditated in past days we are able to read that the twelve sons of Jacob are gathered  in one place together and are getting ready for a meal. At that time Jacob is not there.

But the Egyptians would not eat food with the Hebrews, doing that is an abomination to the Egyptians.  So they set Joseph a place by himself, and them by themselves, and the Egyptians who ate with him by themselves. During that time also Joseph did not reveal that he is their brother.

Genesis 43: 33, 34 And they sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright and the youngest according to his youth; and the men looked in astonishment at one another.

Then he took servings to them from before him, but Benjamin’s serving was five times as much as any of theirs. So they drank and were merry with him.

In the above mentioned things God is showing us as a pattern and telling us that God is redeeming each one of us who are in the bondage of Egypt (bondage of sin) by his holy blood and he is coming to dwell in every one of us.

And Jacob calls his twelve sons and tells each one of them what will befall them in the last days.

In Genesis 49: 22 - 24 “Joseph is a fruitful bough, A fruitful bough by a well; His branches run over the wall.

The archers have bitterly grieved him, Shot at him and hated him.

But his bow remained in strength, And the arms of his hands were made strong By the hands of the Mighty God of Jacob (From there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel).

And we see that he gives many other blessings.

But in Genesis 49: 27 “Benjamin is a ravenous wolf; In the morning he shall devour the prey, And at night he shall divide the spoil.”

Since God had kept such blessings regarding Benjamin, we see that Joseph waited for Benjamin to come and then prepares to have a meal.

This is because regarding the tribe of Benjamin he will protect him forever and will dwell within his land.

That is why in John 14: 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

Also in Revelation 3: 20 - 22  Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

When we read this, my loving brothers and sisters, our Lord Jesus Christ is knocking for us to open the doors of our heart. He is only God's word. If we will open our heart to God's word, that Word will become flesh and will dwell in us full of grace and truth. He will dwell in our heart and will always eat the food of God's word along with us. What is that food? John 4: 31 - 34 In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.”

But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.”

Therefore the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?”

Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

My dear people of God who are reading this, today many among us do not know what food is. When we say food we think of the food that will perish. That is not the one, the reason God is showing us as a pattern about how Joseph and his brothers had food is our Lord Jesus Christ is doing harvest of our soul within us. Our soul is filled with thorns and thistles (For example) worldly worries, worldly pleasures and is entangled and caught in them. Our Lord Jesus Christ saves our soul and prepares us for eternal life.

That is why Jesus Christ says My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

He is doing his work in us means Hebrews 4: 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

In this manner, God's word is only Christ. Within us he is as spirit, life and with power he removes all our evil thoughts, characters, old habits, fleshly thoughts, worldly deeds and all the various sinful habits that does not please God and also all the pus in our soul - he removes from our soul and gives his life in our soul and gives us good thoughts in our heart and will lead us in God's righteousness. All these are his deeds which is his food.

In this manner, he collects our soul in his wheat threshing floor, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. He will gather us in his presence for eternal life.

Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all.
