“Glory to the Precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

Isaiah 44: 1 - 3  “Yet hear now, O Jacob My servant, And Israel whom I have chosen.

Thus says the Lord who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you: ‘Fear not, O Jacob My servant; And you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.

For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, And floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, And My blessing on your offspring;

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Hallelujah

The way God blesses Jacob as God's house

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, yesterday we saw regarding how God blessed Jacob. God also says in Deuteronomy 30: 19, 20 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

The land that God promised that he will give Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was a land where milk and honey flowed and that was Canaan. This land was shown as a pattern of our Lord Jesus Christ. If we all accept Our Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, and love him and obey his voice then he will be our life and the length of our days.

That is why, in Proverbs 3: 16 - 18 Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor.

Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.

She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, And happy are all who retain her.

But how God blesses Jacob is - When Esau saw that Isaac blessed Jacob, he was angry. So Rebekah told Jacob, “Surely your brother Esau comforts himself concerning you by intending to kill you.

Now therefore, my son, obey my voice: arise, flee to my brother Laban in Haran. And stay with him a few days, until your brother’s fury turns away, until your brother’s anger turns away from you, and he forgets what you have done to him; then I will send and bring you from there.

And because Rebekah said, “I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth, Isaac blessed Jacob and told him take yourself a wife from there of the daughters of Laban your mother’s brother.

Genesis 28: 3, 4 “May God Almighty bless you And make you fruitful and multiply you, That you may be an assembly of peoples;

And give you the blessing of Abraham, To you and your descendants with you, That you may inherit the land In which you are a stranger, Which God gave to Abraham.”

We see that Isaac sends Jacob. In the same manner, Jacob obeys his mother and father.

Genesis 28: 10 Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran.

So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep.

Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.

Genesis 28: 13 - 15 And behold, the Lord stood above it and said: “I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants.

Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”

Here we see that the stone that we meditated on is our Lord Jesus Christ. And that ladder signifies him interceding for us and the prayer that he is praying reaches heaven and the prayer is being taken to God in heaven by God's angels as prayer incense.

That is why, in John 1 : 50, 51 Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”

And He said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”

Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.” And he said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!”(signifies Christ)

Here God is showing as a pattern the blessing that each one of us will receive. Jacob, who is the church, who is us - he redeemed us by his blood, gave his life for us, to protect us he gave us life and length of days. In order that we do not lose it, he gave us his body - the church so we will be protected within that church and is praying for us night and day and is protecting us. The reason he is protecting us this way is because we are God's house, God will dwell in us, and he blesses us with his life and length of days for evermore.

Then Jacob took the stone that he had put at his head, set it up as a pillar, and poured oil on top of it. And he called the name of that place Bethel;

In Jacob's life God makes him and the place where he stayed as to be named as House of God and Bethel.

Also in Genesis 28: 21, 22 so that I come back to my father’s house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God.

And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You.”

In this manner, God blesses Jacob as a church.

Let us pray. May the Lord bless you all.
