Running the race of faith

My dearly beloved in Christ, in Hebrews 7: 15, 16 - And it is yet far more evident if, in the likeness of Melchizedek, there arises another priest

who has come, not according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life.

Hebrews 7: 17 says – For He testifies: “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.”

Hebrews 7: 18 - For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness,

Hebrews 7:19 - for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

In this manner, God gave his perfect Son and when we change as a chosen generation, royal priesthood, holy nation and his own special people we become firm in faith.

God’s word to such in I Peter 2:10 - who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

How should those strong in faith walk along with those weak in faith? Romans 14: 1 says - Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things.

Romans 14: 9 says - For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

Therefore we must not think low about those who are weak in faith. Romans 14: 10 – 13 says - But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.”

So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.

Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way.

Romans 15: 1 - We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

Romans 15: 2 – 4 says - Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.

For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.”

For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

Therefore my dear beloved, it is extremely necessary for us to uphold those who are weak in faith by word of God and prayer.

God told the Children of Israel in Psalms 105:11 - Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan As the allotment of your inheritance,”

This land of Canaan signifies our Lord Jesus Christ. We all know that in order to possess land of Canaan, God brought Israelites from bondage of Egypt, saved them and brought them out.

In their journey, on the way they were destroyed. The reason being that they thought and did things which did not please God and murmured against God. They were destroyed on the way itself. This is because He who has called us is faithful. They did not believe that He will guide them to the end.  Not only that, they remembered deeds of Egypt again and murmured against God. That made God angry and He destroyed many of them. Canaan is a land flowing with milk and honey.

God says – In Deuteronomy 7: 1 - “When the Lord your God brings you into the land which you go to possess, and has cast out many nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you

God told Moses in Numbers 33: 52, 53 - then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their engraved stones, destroy all their molded images, and demolish all their high places;

you shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land and dwell in it, for I have given you the land to possess.

God revealed these things so that we should possess the land flowing with milk and honey which is Jesus Christ. If we possess Him, we become that land of Canaan. Our soul should possess it. The characters of the tribes which are in us – are destroyed by the Word of God. When it comes into us and we who believe – when we accept the word of God, God will chase the deeds of the tribes which are the deeds of the Devil. Then we can possess the land. If we are firm in our faith, then only we can possess the lands.

Only two from the Children of Israel could enter into the land of Canaan. Among those who went to the land of Canaan were backsliding people due to the lack of faith of others. Only Joshua and Caleb had faith within themselves and they possessed the land easily by the faith in Him. (Jesus Christ)

Therefore our Lord in John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Therefore, so that we do not perish in John 16: 7 – 11 - Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.

And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

of sin, because they do not believe in Me;

of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;

of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

In this way when God convicts us if we realize and gain understanding we will not perish. May the blessing of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
